[Shincheonji, Intermediate Lesson 16] Testimony on the Revelation of the Old and New Testaments by Chapter, The Place Prepared by Jesus and the Spirit of Truth, the Counselor Jn 14, Jn 16

[Shincheonji, Intermediate Lesson 16]

Testimony on the Revelation of the Old and New Testaments by Chapter,

The Place Prepared by Jesus and the Spirit of Truth, the Counselor

Jn 14, Jn 16

Pastors, theology students and congregation members all over the world whose hope is in heaven and eternal life, it is nice to meet you. My name is Kim Jin Hoon, the head instructor of Kim Hae church, an Andrew tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus. I wanted to express a warm welcome to everyone who attended the Shincheonji online seminar for the testimony on the revelation of the Old and New Testaments by chapter.

Today, the words I will be testifying to is an intermediate lesson titled the place Jesus has prepared and the spirit of truth the counselor. The main reference is John 14 and 16. There may be some pastors that have read the Bible a lot that may know the content regarding the place Jesus has prepared and the spirit of truth the counselor and there may be some that don’t know very well. However, I hope that you will listen to my lecture and learn the answers to God’s will together during this time.

◆ Main promises in John 14

1. A place that Jesus prepared

2. Spirit of truth the counselor

Now, let’s first take a look at the two main promises that Jesus made when he left in John 14. About 2,000 years ago, Jesus who came at the first coming said in John 14 that he would go and prepare a place and promised the disciples that he would come back again when he prepared that place. And when Jesus left he promised to send the spirit of truth, the counselor.

Because Jesus left he said that he would send another counselor. This is a prophecy that will be fulfilled 2,000 years later which is today at the time of the second coming. The purpose of this prophecy was recorded as in John 14:29 is that when the words of prophecy are fulfilled it is to see and believe what has been fulfilled.

1. The place Jesus prepared

◾ John 14:2-3 Jesus : left to prepare a place

∴ prepare a place for the saints who keep the new covenant

Now, we will take a look at the place Jesus prepared. But, first let’s read the words of John 14:2-3 together.

2.  In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so, I would have told you. I am going there to prepare a place for you.

3.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.

The first promise Jesus made when he left was that he was going to prepare a place for the saints to live. If so, who was this place really prepared for? If you look at John 14:23, he went to go prepare a place for those who keep the commands of Jesus that is the saints who keep the new covenant.

1. The place Jesus prepared

1) The place that Jesus prepared and comes to

: Rev. 21 Holy City New Jerusalem

If so, where is the place Jesus went to go prepare? It says in Matthew 6:10, your will will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We will first take a look at what the place prepared that is fulfilled in heaven is like. Let’s read the words of Rev. 21:1-3 together.

1.  Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea.

2.  I saw the Holy City, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride beautifully dressed for her husband.

3.  And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, "Now the dwelling of God is with men, and he will live with them. They will be his people, and God himself will be with them and be their God.

The place that Jesus prepared and comes to is the holy city new Jerusalem coming down from heaven in Revelation 21. Since Jesus went to heaven and prepared a place calling it new Jerusalem we can see the word ‘new’, right?

Then, why is it called new Jerusalem? This is not the time of Moses and it is not of old that is the Old Testament. But, it is new. When you look at Revelation 21, the names of the 12 Apostles are written on the wall of the city foundation of the holy city new Jerusalem. Jesus made the new Jerusalem by using the 12 disciples as the foundation.

Because the 12 disciples are in spirit and not the flesh, the new Jerusalem that Jesus created is a spiritual organization, the kingdom of heaven in the spiritual realm.

1. The place Jesus prepared

2) The place that Jesus comes again when that place was prepared

◾ Matt. 6:10 As it will be done on earth as it is in heaven

◾ Rev. 21:1 the new heaven and new earth = Rev. 7 12 tribes

◾ Rev. 7 12 tribes that are created by harvesting and sealing

◾ Matt. 25:31-34 the sheep like believers → inherit the prepared kingdom

Then, Jesus clearly promised that he would come again when that place was prepared. Then, where will he come to? In Matthew 6:10, it says as it will be done on earth as it is in heaven. That place where that prophecy is fulfilled will become the reality of where that prepared place will come down to, right?

To understand this, we saw in Revelation 21:1-3. The holy city new Jerusalem comes down out of heaven from God and it says that the dwelling of God is with men. The place where this holy city new Jerusalem comes down upon is the new heaven and new earth recorded in Revelation 21:1. Also, this new heaven and new earth are the 12 tribes of Shincheonji created according to the promise in Revelation 7.

This will become the 12 tribes of Shincheonji that are recreated by harvesting and sealing those born of God’s seed in Revelation 7 after the first heaven and first earth are judged and come to an end in Revelation 6. At the time of the second coming, the 12 tribes are created on this earth and God and the kingdom of heaven come down.

This new heaven and new earth, the 12 tribes of Shincheonji will become the place where Jesus had prepared comes down upon. That is why it is as if it was stamped like a copy that it is the same as it is in heaven made here on earth and becomes one.

The kingdom of heaven in the spiritual realm the holy city new Jerusalem comes down upon the 12 tribes and becomes one. Then isn’t belonging to the 12 tribes the same as entering the kingdom of heaven? I hope that all of you will find and belong to the 12 tribes of the kingdom of heaven on this earth as it is in heaven and become those who can fulfill the hope of the kingdom of heaven.

Also, the 12 tribes as seen in Revelation 7 are the sealed 144,000 and the name of God and Jesus are recorded on their foreheads as seen in Revelation 14 and are recorded as the harvested firstfruits. Then, where is the place they are gathered? That place is Mt. Zion in Revelation 14. As we see in Revelation 14:1-3, Jesus is standing on Mt. Zion and with him are the 144,000 and they sing a new song before the throne.

We can know well that the throne of God is at Zion. In other words, we can know that the throne of God, the spiritual realm of heaven, the holy city new Jerusalem comes down upon Mt. Zion. God left the places where they became mere flesh but is one with 144,000 who are sealed with God’s seal on Mt. Zion.

The book of Revelation that God fulfills and the place where God will come is where the sealed 12 tribes are at in Revelation 7 and 14. Therefore, this will be the place in John 14 where the place that has been prepared will come down upon. Also, in Matthew 25 it is promised that there will be those who inherit the kingdom prepared since the creation of the world when Jesus returns.

Then, let’s read Matthew 25:31-34 together to see who will inherit this.

31.  "When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, he will sit on his throne in heavenly glory.

32.  All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.

33.  He will put the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.

34.  "Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world.

Just as we read, those who are blessed and will inherit the kingdom prepared will be the sheep like believers who are on the right side of God. The prepared kingdom to inherit will be the place he went to prepare in John 14 and Jesus went to prepare this place for these people, right?

1. The place Jesus prepared

3) Qhe qualifications to enter the kingdom of heaven

◾ Matt. 7:21-23 Must act according to God’s will

◾ John 3:3-5 Must be born again of water and the holy spirit

◾ Rev. 7 Born of God’s seed, harvested, sealed and belong to 12 tribes

◾ Rev. 21:27 The name must be recorded in the book of life

◾ Rev. 22:14 Wash the robes

◾ Rev. 22:18-19 Must not add of subtract from the book of Revelation

※ Those who keep the new covenant → Can become the sheep like believers

Then, what are the qualifications to enter the kingdom of heaven where the place that has been prepared will come? First, we must act according to God’s will. And we must be born again of water and the holy spirit. Also, we must be born of God’s seed, be harvested and sealed and belong to the 12 tribes of God’s kingdom.

Also, the name must be recorded in the book of life of the 12 tribes of God’s kingdom and wash their robes, the clothes of their heart with the words of revelation as clear as crystal. They can only enter the holy city, the kingdom of heaven.

Also, in Revelation 22:18-19, it is written that if you add or subtract from the new covenant, Revelation, you will not be able to enter the kingdom of heaven. If you love God and hope for the kingdom of heaven, you must not say that you love only with words but most not add or subtract from the new covenant, believe in the reality of the fulfillment and be those who have actions of keeping the new covenant.

Pastors, theology students and congregation members all over the word, I really pray in the name of Jesus that all of you will have the qualifications to enter the kingdom of heaven and become the sheep-like believers who can live together at the place that the Bible has promised.

2. The spirit of truth, the counselor

1) The meaning of the counselor

◾ Protect ‘Bo’(保), Grace ‘Hae’(惠), Teacher ‘Sa’(師)

∴ A teacher who protect with the grace

2) Who is the counselor at the first coming?

◾ 1 John 2:1 Jesus = advocate = counselor

◾ John 14:24 Word of Jesus = Word of God (Jesus is God’s advocate)

※ Lk 1:17 John the Baptist who came in the spirit and power of Elijah

◾ John 5:43 He who came in the name of God = Jesus

∴ Counselor at the first coming(advocate) = Jesus

Then, the second main point of John 14 is that Jesus promised to send the spirit of truth, the counselor after he left. Now, let’s take a look at the spirit of truth, the counselor that Jesus promised. First if we look at the meaning of counselor, the word used here in Chinese characters means a teacher who protests God’s people with grace using characters that represent protection, grace and teacher.

To understand this more accurately, let’s read 1 John 2:1 together.

1.  My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense--Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.

In 1 John 2:1, it says Jesus is an advocate. We can see that Jesus is a counselor that advocate of God who speaks on his behalf. Therefore, Jesus is God’s advocate and the counselor. Then, whose words that Jesus preach? In John chapter 14:24, Jesus said these words you hear are not my own. They belong to the Father. About 2,000 years ago, Jesus came with the duty of the counselor. The duty to testify the word of God on his behalf as an advocate. It is recorded in Luke 1:17 at the time of the first coming John the Baptist came in the spirit and power of Elijah. The spirit of Elijah came upon John the Baptist and did the work of the duty of Elijah.

Just as John the Baptist came in the spirit and power of Elijah, then whose name did Jesus come in? Yes, he came in the name of God, right? To understand this, if you look at John 5:43, it is recorded that Jesus came in God’s name. Then, to say that he came in the name of God means that Jesus was sent by God and his duty was to preach the word of God, right? In other words, at the time of the first coming, Jesus is an advocate who came to preach the word of God on his behalf.

Therefore, as written in John 13:20, to accept Jesus at the time of the first coming, is to accept God and to not accept Jesus was the same as not accepting God. Also, John 15:23 says that he who hates Jesus hates God as well. Those who did not accept Jesus at the time and persecuted him are the same as those who persecuted God.

In this way, the words of the shepherd who testifies on behalf are the words of God. I hope that all of you can receive life by listening to the word that is testified on behalf that was sent by God and obey it. So far, we have looked at the content of Jesus the counselor at the first coming.

2. The spirit of truth, the counselor

3) Another counselor

◾ John 14:16-17 Another Counselor

◾ John 14:17 Spirit of truth → dwell inside a person

∴ The spirit of truth is inside a person and testify on behalf

◾ Counselor in the spirit : Spirit of truth

◾ Counselor in the flesh : The messenger sent by Jesus(Rev. 22:16)

◾ John 14:16-17

◾ The person who has the spirit of counselor inside  = a shepherd of advocate sent by Jesus

◾ Spirit of truth → Promised shepherd of the New Testament

: Testifies to the prophecy and fulfillment of Revelation

∴ Shepherd who is one with spirit of truth

= Counselor in the flesh, the promised shepherd in the New Testament

◾ John 14:26 Comes in Jesus’ name → To teach and remind all the things

Now, we are going to learn about another counselor that Jesus promised to send at the second coming. Since this is a very important topic in Today’s lesson, I hope you will pay attention and listen carefully. Now, let’s read together the explanation of the counselor in John 14:16-17.

16.  And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever--

17.  the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in you.

As seen in John 14:16, Jesus said that he will send another Counselor. But, why did he say another counselor instead of just saying counselor? The reason for this is because Jesus, the counselor of the first coming, left. And so he promised to send us another counselor. He also said that it is a spirit of truth and that is because God’s word is truth. So we can know well that it is a spirit that will bring the word of truth.

However, it is not going to be a spirit that you can’t see that will be teaching the word of truth to people, right? As John 14:17 says the spirit of counselor will be inside of you, in other words dwell inside a person. Therefore, the logic of testifying on behalf is not the spirit directly convenient to the people. But, Jesus promised that the spirit of truth will be inside a person and will testify on behalf.

So, the one who testifies on behalf, the counselor, we can see there is a counselor in the spirit and a counselor in the flesh. We can know that the counselor in the flesh is a flesh that testifies on behalf. The counselor in the spirit is a spirit of truth that testifies to the word of God. Also, the flesh that the spirit of truth is one with the counselor in the flesh as a chosen shepherd of God receiving the word from the counselor in the spirit and testifies on behalf to the saints and is a messenger that Jesus has sent to the churches.

This is just like a bottle of water that becomes a water bottle and a bottle of wine that becomes a wine bottle. So, the spirit of counselor inside that person is a shepherd, that messenger that Jesus has sent. At the time of the first coming, the spirit of God was one with the promised shepherd Jesus. And just like the Old Testament prophecies and fulfillment were testified, even today at the time of the second coming, the spirit of truth enters the promised shepherd of the New Testament and testifies to the prophecy and fulfillment of Revelation.

Pastors, theology students and congregation members all over the world, when you hear these words when will these words be fulfilled? And what does this have to do with me? Shouldn’t we think about this at least once? Just as God says that Jesus was the Counselor, the one who testifies on behalf, the advocate, today the shepherd who Jesus sent the spirit of truth to be one with is the one that testifies on behalf. He is the counselor in the flesh, the promised shepherd of the New Testament.

Then, who is the advocate we must find? Among the things we learned today, this content is very important. In this era that we are living in, God, Jesus and the one who testifies on behalf, the advocate, he is a messenger who comes in Jesus’ name promised in John 14:26 today. To understand this, let’s read John 14:26 together.

26.  But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Just as Jesus came in the name of the Father, another counselor in John 14:26 promises to come in the name of Jesus to teach all things and remind all the things Jesus said. The fact that another counselor came in the name of Jesus means that he was sent from Jesus.

2. The spirit of truth, the counselor

4) The work that another counselor does

◾ John 16:13-15

① Guide into all truth

② Won’t speak on his own but speak only what he hears

③ Teach things to come with the things that belongs to Jesus

∴ Duty of testifying the words of Jesus

◾ John 16:25 At the first coming : parables(figurative, prophecy),

When another Counselor comes : testify the reality

Then, what is the work and testimony that another counselor who was sent in the name of Jesus does? To understand this, we first saw in John 16:13-15. The counselor will guide into all truth. Secondly, he will not speak on his own. He will only speak what he hears and said that he will teach us things to come with the things that belong to Jesus.

Therefore, another counselor who came in the name of Jesus is not Jesus. But with the duty of testifying the words of Jesus he is the shepherd, the advocate who testifies on behalf. Also, when another counselor comes, it is the end times where the prophecies of the Bible will be fulfilled. Aren’t you curious what will take place at that time? To understand this if you look at John 16:25, he said that when another counselor comes he will not speak figuratively or in parables but will speak plainly about the fulfillment.

Today when the book of Revelation is fulfilled, another counselor will testify to the fulfillment that God and Jesus promised. And as he testifies on behalf, I hope that we can all become the true believers who listen and keep the words of the counselor that Jesus has promised.

2. The spirit of truth, the counselor

5) New John, an advocate of Jesus

◾ Rev. 1:1-2

◾ Rev. 1:1 New John of a process to convey revelation

◾ Rev. 1:2 New John, an advocate of Jesus

◾ Rev. 2-3 The promised shepherd, the one who overcomes

◾ Rev. 3:12 God, new Jerusalem, new name of Jesus → Overcomer New John

◾ Rev. 4 New John who went up to the spiritual realm of heaven

◾ Rev. 12 The one who fought against Satan’s shepherd and overcame,

Weapon : Word of Jesus and word of testimony

◾ Rev. 22:8 New John who saw and heard the fulfilled events of Revelation

◾ Rev. 22:16 The messenger of Jesus sent to the churches

◾ To listen the words of Jesus’ messenger = to learn the revealed word of Jesus

◾ Rev. 22:16 Messenger of Jesus sent to churches

Now let’s take a closer look at another counselor promised in the book of Revelation in the New Testament that is New John, the one who testifies on behalf of Jesus. First, the name New John refers to a shepherd promised to come in the position of John at the time of Revelation fulfillment. To understand this, let’s read Revelation 1:1-2 together.

1.  The revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave him to show his servants what must soon take place. He made it known by sending his angel to his servant John,

2.  who testifies to everything he saw--that is, the word of God and the testimony of Jesus Christ.

As we saw in Revelation 1:1, in order for God to show the servants what must soon take place, he made it known by sending his angel to his servant John. This is a process by which the Revelation is conveyed. To take a closer look at this in Revelation 5:1, the scroll sealed with 7 seals was in God’s right hand which is the word of revelation where God’s secrets are recorded.

The time has come today to open the scroll sealed with 7 seals in God's right hand. Jesus takes it and opens each of the 7 seals in Revelation 6 and 8. He fulfilled all the prophecies written in the book. And the opened scroll in Revelation 10 is fed to New John through the angel.

Also, after receiving the word, New John saw and testified to all the events of Revelation that were fulfilled in the word. Therefore, when Jesus fulfills these prophecies the one who directly saw and heard these things is just one person which is New John and the servants of God who receive that testimony of the Revelation are the 12 tribes in Revelation 7, 144,000 and the great multitude in white.

It says in Revelation 1:2 that New John who testifies on behalf of Jesus as an advocate will testify to everything he saw that is the word of God and the testimony of Jesus. Therefore, the only one who sees, hears and testifies to the reality of the fulfillment of the book of Revelation is New John, the messenger of Jesus who testifies on behalf, the advocate today at the second coming.

Also, in Revelation 1:9-20, Jesus is one with New John, the one who overcomes and through him sends a letter to the 7 messengers of the 7 churches in Revelation 2-3 telling them to repent, fight and overcome Satan’s Nicolaitans. Today when the book of Revelation is fulfilling, New John who fought and overcame Satan’s Nicolaitans receives the promised blessings of the hidden manna, the white stone, the iron scepter to rule all nations and the morning star.

The shepherd who received the blessings promised in Revelation 2-3 is the one who overcomes the promised shepherd. Isn’t where the one who overcomes is at the place where God, Jesus, the kingdom of heaven and salvation is? Also, if we look at Revelation 3:12, it says that the name of God and the name of the city of my God, the new Jerusalem coming down from heaven and Jesus’ new name will be recorded on the one who overcomes, New John.

From this, we can see that God, the kingdom of heaven and Jesus descend and are one with the one who overcomes, New John. And the one who went up to the spiritual realm of heaven in Revelation 4 is New John. In Revelation 12, New John fought with the blood of Jesus which is the word of Jesus and the word of testimony and became the one who overcomes.

Also, if you look at Revelation 22:8, when Jesus fulfills all of the events of Revelation, the one who saw and heard those things beside him was New John. This New John is the messenger of Jesus who was sent to the churches as seen in Revelation 22:16.

Therefore, New John is a messenger of Jesus. He doesn’t speak his own words but only testifies to what he has seen and heard. He testifies the words of Jesus on behalf and hearing the words of the messenger that Jesus sent on behalf means listening to the words of God and Jesus. It is learning the revealed word of Jesus.

For this reason, the promised shepherd of Shincheonji who was sent as a messenger of Jesus is testifying the overall events of Revelation, the prophecy and fulfillment as a last trumpet along with the 12 tribe leaders to all the Christian pastors in the world.

Currently, pastors from all over the world are listening to this and are welcoming it. Many churches, denominations and seminaries have signed MOUs with Shincheonji. And many places are inviting the lectures from Shincheonji. Isn’t this clear proof that another counselor that Jesus promised, the spirit of truth is with the promised shepherd of Shincheonji?

If you want to meet God and Jesus today, we pray in the name of Jesus that you meet the one who overcomes, the messenger that God and Jesus are with and hear the overall events of Revelation becoming the people who seek truth.

◆ Conclusion

Now, let’s summarize what we heard today.

Jesus said that he was going to prepare the place for the saints who keep the new covenant. That place that is prepared will be the holy city new Jerusalem, the spiritual realm of heaven and Revelation 21 where Jesus built the 12 disciples as the foundation.

And the place where God and the city of new Jerusalem comes down on this earth will become a new heaven and new earth where God’s people will live. It is a place where we will dwell on this earth as it is in heaven and it is the kingdom of heaven we must find.

Also, the meaning of the counselor in John 14 and 16 is a teacher who protects with grace. And its duty is to testify the word of God and Jesus on behalf.

Also, at the time of the first coming, the messenger of God was Jesus. And at the time of the second coming, the messenger of God and Jesus is a promised shepherd that Jesus has chosen, the one who overcomes New John.

Lastly, the kingdom of God that the messenger of Jesus has established is the new kingdom and new people the 12 tribes of Shincheonji. The 12 tribes are those who are born of God’s seed, harvested and sealed and is God’s new kingdom that has been recreated as seen in Revelation 7, 14 and 21.

In the name of Jesus we pray that pastors, theology students and congregation members all over the world will find the promised shepherd who testifies on behalf and understand the meaning of the word, keep it and receive all the promised blessings.

Lastly, with the meaning of becoming one with God, Jesus and the word, let’s shout together. We are one inside of God and Jesus. We are one.

[Shincheonji, Intermediate Lesson 15] Testimony on the Revelation of the Old and New Testaments by Chapter, The Food of God and the Food of Satan / Jn 6 (Rv 2, Rv 17-18)

[Shincheonji, Intermediate Lesson 15]

Testimony on the Revelation of the Old and New Testaments by Chapter,

The Food of God and the Food of Satan / Jn 6 (Rv 2, Rv 17-18)

Pastors, seminarians and saints around the world who carry out the life of faith with the hope in heaven and eternal life, it is nice to meet you. I am Sung Chang Ho, the head of the Ma San church of Busan James tribe of Shincheonji Church of Jesus. I sincerely thank you for attending the Shincheonji online seminar testimony on the revelation of the Old and New Testaments by chapter.

God’s word of life which will examine today is the intermediate lesson 15, the food of God and the food of Satan. The main references are the words of John 6, Revelation 2 and Revelation 17-18. There may be pastors who know about this already and others who do not know. But I hope that you will listen to what I am explaining at this time today.

And I hope that this will be a precious time to remind ourselves once again how important it is to understand about the food of God and the food of Satan for the believers who hope for heaven and eternal life.

▎Introduction of the main reference

◈ Time of recording : About 2,000 yrs ago

◈ Recorder : Apostle John

◈ Chapters of recording : Total 21 chapters, 1, 2, 3 John, Revelation

◈ Introduction of Apostle John : One of Jesus’ 12 disciples, son of Zebedee, brother of James

I will give a brief introduction to the main references. The time of recording is about 2,000 years ago and the writer or the recorder is Apostle John. He has recorded 21 chapters of the gospel of John and 1, 2, 3 John as well as the last book of the New Testament Revelation. Apostle John was one of Jesus’ 12 disciples and is a son of Zebedee, the brother of James.

※ Two types of food in the Bible

◆ Physical food : eat with the mouth → the body lives or dies

◆ Spiritual food : eat with the ears → the spirit lives or dies

∴ John 6 : Living bread that came down from heaven = spiritual food

First, before examining the food of God and the food of Satan, let’s take a look at the two main types of food in the Bible. In the Bible, there are two types of food, the physical food eaten with the mouth and the spiritual food that is received with the ears. Physical food is the food for the physical body and there is a food that when you eat of it becomes your flesh and blood so it gives you life. It keeps you alive and there is the food that if you eat it it kills your body.

Likewise, spiritual food is the food for the spirit. And there is food that gives life to your spirit when you eat it and there is food that kills your spirit when you eat it. In order for a person to live both the physical and the spiritual food are needed. People in the world know very well of the physical food. The food that we believers want to know and also that Jesus wants to let us believers know is a spiritual food that gives life to the spirit.

The food of God and the food of Satan that we will examine together at this time are also types of spiritual food that we receive with our ears. In the reference chapter of John 6, Jesus had said I am the living bread that came down from heaven. Is this bread the physical food or the spiritual food? Yes that’s right. It is the spiritual food that you listen to with your ears in order to eat and understand.

So at this time we will take a look at the spiritual food, the food that leads to eternal life that Jesus had wanted us to really understand.

◆ John 6:1~27

◾ John 6:1~13 5 barley loaves & 2 small fish → feed 5,000 people

◾ John 6:14~15 make Jesus king by force

◾ John 6:16~21 walking on the lake

◾ John 6:22~25 A crowd of people came to find Jesus

◾ John 6:26~27 food that spoils → work X,

food that endures to eternal life → work O

                           Provided by son of man(Jesus)

John 6 can also be called as a chapter of bread. And it is the best chapter that’s summarized well about the food in the Bible. First, let’s take a look at John chapter 6:1~27.

Some time after this, Jesus crossed to the far shore of the Sea of Galilee, that is the Sea of Tiberias and a great crowd of people followed him because they saw the miraculous signs he had performed on the sick. Then Jesus went up on a mountainside and sat down with his disciples. The Jewish Passover Feast was near.  When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?"

He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do. Philip answered him, "Eight months' wages would not buy enough bread for each one to have a bite!" Philip was very realistic and up to this point Philip did not have the confidence that Jesus could solve this problem easily even after seeing the many miracles that Jesus had performed.

Another of his disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter's brother, spoke up, "Here is a boy with five small barley loaves and two small fish, but how far will they go among so many?" Jesus said, "Have the people sit down." There was plenty of grass in that place, and the men sat down, about five thousand of them. Jesus then took the loaves, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted. He did the same with the fish. When they had all had enough to eat, he said to his disciples, "Gather the pieces that are left over. Let nothing be wasted." So they gathered them and filled twelve baskets with the pieces of the five barley loaves left over by those who had eaten.

Jesus prayed to God and fed the 5,000 people with five barley loaves and two fish that one child had. After the many people ate, he gathered up the remaining pieces and found 12 baskets. The bread that remained after feeding the 5,000 people on that day was the physical food like the manna that God gave to the Israelites after their exodus from Egypt. This miracle was a brief demonstration that Jesus was a son of God whom God was together with.

After the people saw the miraculous sign that Jesus did, they began to say, "Surely this is the Prophet who is to come into the world." Jesus, knowing that they intended to come and make him king by force, withdrew again to a mountain by himself. The poor people focused their attention on the bread that satisfied their body immediately rather than the spiritual matters so they tried to make Jesus a king by force.

However, Jesus was not the savior who came to solve the material problems as the people of Israel had hoped. So he read their thoughts that were different from God’s will and ran away to a mountain.

When evening came, his disciples went down to the lake, where they got into a boat and set off across the lake for Capernaum. By now it was dark, and Jesus had not yet joined them. A strong wind was blowing and the waters grew rough. When they had rowed three or three and a half miles, they saw Jesus approaching the boat, walking on the water; and they were terrified. But he said to them, "It is I; don't be afraid." Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.

Looking at Matthew 14:22-23 which is the same content Jesus has his disciples go to Capernaum by boat. He went up on a mountain by himself to pray and then came by walking on the lake to the boat which was among the waves caused by a great wind.

The next day the crowd that had stayed on the opposite shore of the lake realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not entered it with his disciples, but that they had gone away alone. Then some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks. Once the crowd realized that neither Jesus nor his disciples were there, they got into the boats and went to Capernaum in search of Jesus. When they found him on the other side of the lake, they asked him, "Rabbi, when did you get here?"

A crowd of people who had tasted the miracle of 5,000 people with 5 barley loaves and 2 fish came to find Jesus and his disciples by crossing the sea on a boat all the way to Capernaum. It must be great faith. Let’s take a look at Jesus’ answer to those who came to Jesus by faith.

Jesus answered, "I tell you the truth, you are looking for me, not because you saw miraculous signs but because you ate the loaves and had your fill. Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval."

Jesus said that they were looking for him because they ate the loaves and had their fill and also said not to work for food that spoils but for food that endures to eternal life. And he said that the food that endures to eternal life is provided by Jesus the son of man. Everyone, do you know about these two types of foods? Are you working for the food that spoils or are you working for the food that endures to eternal life?

The food for eternal life is not given by anyone. But there is someone especially who gives this food. Do you know who this is? The food that spoils is the physical food as we had talked about before that we eat with our mouths and the food that endures to eternal life is a spiritual food that we listen to and eat with our ears. Now, let’s look at the spiritual food that endures to eternal life which Jesus had told us to work for

1. Two types of spiritual foods

1) Food of God and food of Satan

◾ Gen. 2:9 Two trees in the center of the garden

◾ Gen. 3:22 fruit of the tree of life → eternal life

◾ Gen. 2:17 fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil → death

※ After Adam’s sin, global community born of Adam’s sinful gene

First, there are two types of spiritual foods, one the food that your spirit lives upon eating and the other that your spirit dies upon eating. The food of God and the food of Satan which we are examining today are the two types of spiritual food. As you all think, the food of God that God who is life gives is the food that gives life to the spirit. And the food of Satan who has the power of death is the food that kills the spirit.

In the Bible there is food that leads you to eternal life if you eat of it and there is food that is said that if you eat of it you will surely die. Have you heard about this before? Yes, that’s right. They are the fruit of the tree of life and the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. According to Genesis 2:9, in the center of the garden of Eden in the east where the sun rises there were two trees, the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

It was said in Genesis 3:22 if you eat from the tree of life you will have eternal life. But in Genesis 2:17, it is said that if you eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil you will surely die. As we all know well, in Genesis 3, the wild serpent created by God had deceived Adam and Eve with the lie and made them eat the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil which was forbidden by God.

Because of this creation, the wild serpent and the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil all of creation as well as mankind had fallen into death and suffering. And God the creator left this global world and also Jesus the only begotten son of God had to take up the cross. That is why Apostle Paul said in Romans 5:12 that death entered through one man and life came through another man.

Here in Genesis 3, Adam and Eve who ate the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil had surely died just as it was recorded in the Bible. But did their bodies die right away? Or was it the spirits that had died right away? As we know very well even after eating of this fruit Adam gave birth to his children and died at the age of 930. That’s right. These two trees in the center of the garden and the two types of food on these trees were the food of the spirit. And the spirit of Adam which had eaten from the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil had died.

The people born of the seed of Adam’s sinful gene due to Adam’s transgressions are us and the people of the global community. Just as Adam died from eating the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil all those born of the seed of this gene also became the subjects to death. Therefore, in order to avoid death of the spirit and to gain life, all people in the global community need God’s food, the fruit of the tree of life which is the food that saves the spirit more than anything else.

To know the fruit of the tree of life and the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, we need to know the reality of the three of life and of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. This secret that all believers of the world had wanted to know will be explained in greater detail in intermediate lesson 17, the actual realities of the tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil by an instructor who is more competent than I. So please stay tuned with great expectation.

2) Food of God

◾ John 6:51~58 Those who eat and drink Jesus’ flesh and blood → eternal life

Living bread that came down from heaven : spiritual food(Ezek. 1, 2, 3)

◾ John 8:51~52 a person keeps Jesus’ words → death X

◾ John 15:1 Jesus = true vine(tree of life, John 14:6, Gen. 3:22)

∴ the tree of life that endures to eternal life = Jesus(the true pastor)

the fruit of the tree of life = Jesus’ words of life(food of God)

to eat the food of God = to believe and to acknowledge the words of life of the true pastor

Today we will be looking into the food that comes from the two trees: the food of God and the food of Satan. First is the food of God. The food of God is the food that gives life and if you eat of it you will gain eternal life. John 6:28-71 is about the flesh and the blood of Jesus, the living bread that came down from heaven and God’s food for eternal life. Due to time constraints, I will read John 6:51-58 which is the key content among these verses and examine the food of God that leads to eternal life.

I am the living bread that came down from heaven. If anyone eats of this bread, he will live forever. This bread is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world." Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, "How can this man give us his flesh to eat?" Jesus said to them, "I tell you the truth, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in him. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who feeds on this bread will live forever."

In the words of John 6:51-58, Jesus said that he himself was a living bread that came down from heaven. And he said that those who eat his flesh and drink his blood will have eternal life. Then, the Jews who heard this began to argue sharply saying how can Jesus give them his flesh to eat? And they began to argue sharply among themselves. Would this word about food really be about the physical food telling them to eat Jesus’ physical flesh and drink his physical blood as they had thought?

In John 8:51-52, Jesus said that if a person keeps Jesus’ words he will never see death. In other words it means that this person would live forever and have eternal life. In John 1:1-4, it is said that God is the word and life. And as we see in 1 John 1:1-2, Jesus is also the word. The flesh and the blood of Jesus the food for eternal life is the words of life of Jesus that is given by Jesus who is the word. And this is not physical food but spiritual food. And this is the food of God that leads to eternal life.

So, in John 6:51, Jesus said that he was the living bread that came down from heaven. This is because at the first coming when the prophecies in Ezekiel 1, 2, 3 of the Old Testament were fulfilled. God came to Jesus from heaven and fed Jesus with the bread of the word of the scroll that he himself had opened.

That is why Jesus said that he was the living bread that came down from heaven in John 6. And this was not the physical food eaten through the mouth but it was a spiritual food eaten and received through the ears. And in John 15:1, Jesus said that he was the true vine and in John 14:6, he said that he was the life and so Jesus was the tree of life. And Jesus’ words of life that were given by the true pastor by Jesus is a fruit of the tree of life that leads to eternal life when one eats of it as mentioned in Genesis 3:22.

In conclusion, the tree of life that endures to eternal life was Jesus, the true pastor. And the fruit of the tree of life was Jesus’ words of life and this was the food of God. To eat the food of God means to believe and to acknowledge the words of life of the true pastor. Believers who hoped for heaven and eternal life at the first coming needed to find this Jesus and to believe and acknowledge the word of life which Jesus had given. In order for them to have eternal life.

3) Food of Satan

◾ Daniel 4 king of Babylon = Nebuchadnezzar

◾ Rev. 17, 18 kingdom of demon Babylon

∴ tree of the knowledge of good and evil (Isa. 5)

◾ Matt. 23:33 Pharisees = serpent(Rev. 12:9 Satan, devil)

∴ the tree of the knowledge of good and evil of the devil = Pharisees (false shepherd)

fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil = untrue doctrine(food of Satan)

to eat Satan’s food = to accept the falsehood from the false pastors

Now, on the contrary we will take a look at the food of Satan that kills the spirit of the man. In Daniel 4, we see that Nebuchadnezzar, king of the gentile kingdom of Babylon was compared to a large tree that was a bad vine. It was said to have abundant fruit with the beasts of the field underneath it. Babylon appears again in Revelation 17, 18. This Babylon is a kingdom of demons and they destroy all nations with the wine of adultery and had married with demons.

This tree was God’s choicest vine in Isaiah 5. The tree of life but by bearing bad grapes it became a bad tree, a bad vine, the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. The reason why Jesus said he was a true vine in John 15:1 was because as you can see there are the bad vines. These two types of trees were the Israelites.

The people used to be the tree of life but they betrayed to become the tree of good and evil. This is like the act of betrayal of Solomon as well as that of Adam. Just like these prophecies the actual entities of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil that feed Satan’s food, the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil had appeared at the first coming. And they were the Pharisees who were the shepherds of Jerusalem at that time they were called the serpents.

In Matthew 23:33, in Revelation 12:9, the serpent is called as Satan, the devil so the Pharisees were Satan’s shepherds; they were the false pastors. In conclusion, the devil’s tree of the knowledge of good and evil were the Pharisees; they were the false pastors. The knowledge of good and evil that kills the spirit of man that is the food of Satan at the first coming was the doctrine of falsehood given by the Pharisees, the false shepherds. Therefore, to eat Satan’s food is to accept the falsehood from the false pastors and those who eat it will die spiritually.

To all believers all over the world we believe in God and the Bible. The situation at the time of the first coming in the Bible is very sad and unfortunate. The Jews at the time of the first coming who had hoped for heaven and eternal life did not understand the word of God as mentioned in Hosea 4:6. So they ate the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, the food of Satan rather than the words of Jesus, the fruit of the tree of life which was God’s food. And instead they persecuted, blasphemed and even killed Jesus. And they were cursed and eventually went to hell.

Using this history as an example and a warning I hope that we will find the tree of life and its fruit through the word in the Father’s kingdom that is appearing today. And all become the family of heaven who eats God’s food and lives forever.

2. Promise of Jesus

◾ Lk 22:14-20 Passover meal, flesh and blood of Jesus → will be eaten in Father’s kingdom

◾ John 6:51-58 those who eat the flesh and the blood of Jesus → eternal life

◾ 1 Cor. 15:51-54 the last trumpet sound → resurrection and eternal life

Now the most important time for us today is a time of the Lord’s second coming. At the first coming, Jesus gave the promise with the hope that all believers today will eat God’s food and live eternally. This promise of Jesus is a new covenant established with the blood of Jesus.

In Luke 22:14-20, on the night of the Passover, Jesus established a new covenant with his blood. He said the flesh and the blood of Jesus the Passover meal would not be eaten until the Father’s kingdom comes and is fulfilled. In other words, it is a promise that when the Father’s kingdom comes and is fulfilled it will be eaten in his kingdom.

As we have seen earlier in John 6:51-58, the flesh and the blood of Jesus are the food of God for eternal life upon eating it. That is the food of the spirit that we hear and we eat with our ears. And it is said that this is a new covenant which will be hidden and will not be eaten. But when it comes time to fulfill the new covenant, it will be eaten in the Father’s kingdom.

In 1 Corinthians 15:51-54, there is a promise of resurrection and eternal life that at the last trumpet the dead will be raised imperishable and we will be changed. So when the perishable is clothed with the imperishable and the mortal with immortality then death will be swallowed up in victory. This last trumpet sound will also become the food of God for eternal life at the second coming of the Lord.

Everyone, don’t you want to eat the food of god for eternal life today? Is there anyone who likes death and pain, if there is anyone then would you raise your hand? Of all people in the world no one likes death and suffering. God is life and he is the one who always fulfills his promises.

This is the food promised by our Jesus by giving the blood of his life. Today, I hope that there are no sad souls who miss the food of eternal life in front of their eyes just because they do not understand the word just like it was at the time of the first coming.

3. Fulfillment at Lord’s second coming

1) About food of God

① Time to drink the blood of Jesus : At the fulfillment of Revelation

② Those who drink

◾ Rev. 5:9-10 a kingdom of God and the priests purchased by the blood of Jesus

◾ Rev. 7:14 the great multitude in white who wash their robes clean in the blood of Jesus

③ How to drink

◾ 계 2:17 hidden manna → overcomer

◾ 계 10장 opened word of revelation → New John

∴ Spiritual food that is listened to through the ears

◾ Rev. 11:15 Sound of 7th trumpet

∴ God’s food, the fruit of tree of life

④ Place to eat

◾ Rev. 15:1-5 The temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony with an overcomer where all nations come to worship

Now, we will take a look at the flesh and the blood of Jesus and the sound of the last trumpet which has been hidden in the new covenant that is the food of God for eternal life at the second coming of the Lord when the prophecies of the New Testament are fulfilled today.

The blood of Jesus which is God’s food for eternal life has been hidden until the fulfillment of the new covenant Revelation. It is the food of life that can be eaten when the book of Revelation is fulfilled. So in the prophecy of Revelation it is written about those who drink the blood of Jesus and have eternal life.

God’s work is fulfilled according to this promise. As we see in Revelation 5:9-10, there was a kingdom of God and the priests purchased by the blood of Jesus. And in Revelation 7:14, the great multitude in white who wash their robes clean in the blood of Jesus appears. These are the people who drink the blood of Jesus at the second coming of the Lord and the realities are the priests and the great multitude dressed in white of the 12 tribes of God’s kingdom.

Then, to find out how they can drink the blood of Jesus, let’s read Revelation 2:17.

He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes, I will give some of the hidden manna. I will also give him a white stone with a new name written on it, known only to him who receives it.

Yes, you’ve read well. Jesus gave the one who overcomes the food that was hidden in the new covenant that is the flesh and the blood of Jesus which is the hidden manna for eternal life. Therefore, just as at the time of the first coming, when one was able to eat God’s food for eternal life only by meeting the son of man Jesus and only through him at the second coming in order to eat God’s food for eternal life, one must meet the one who overcomes and through him they can receive the food for eternal life and eat of it.

And in Revelation 5, Jesus took the sealed scroll that was in the right hand of God which was sealed with seven seals and Jesus opened and fulfilled this in Revelation 6 and 8 and then gave the opened word of revelation to the New John to eat through the angel in Revelation 10 and commanded the New John to prophesy again to the peoples, nations, languages and kings.

This opened word of revelation which used to be hidden before the time of the fulfillment of Revelation but was opened and fulfilled by Jesus is the hidden manna, the food for eternal life. This is not a physical food but the spiritual food that is listened to through the ears and this can only be received through the one who overcomes at the time of the Lord’s second coming.

In this way, the fruit of the tree of life which is God’s food for eternal life at the second coming of the Lord is prophesied in various names, the blood of Jesus, the hidden manna, the opened word of revelation and even hearing the sound of the 7th trumpet recorded in Revelation 11:15 which is the fulfillment of the promise in 1 Corinthians 15. All of this is God’s food. And they are the fruit of the tree of life which saves our spirit.

If this food appeared today, wouldn’t we all have to eat of this food? Listening to this food of eternal life at the second coming of the Lord and eating it, is the reason why Jesus had shed his blood on the cross to establish the new covenant at the time of the first coming?

Now, where can we listen to and eat the food of God, this important food for eternal life at the time of the Lord’s second coming? The place where you can eat God’s food of eternal life at the second coming of the Lord is as promised in Revelation 15:1-5, the place where there is the one who overcomes where God the source of life and Jesus and the heavens are together with so that the word of eternal life comes from this place.

This is the place where all nations come to worship, which is the only place out of the whole world, Shincheonji, The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony. This is the Bible and God’s promise. So I hope that you will fully perceive, find and eat the food for eternal life and receive all of heaven and eternal life that is approaching.

2) About Satan’s food

◾ Rev. 17, 18 all nations→ the wine of adultery of Babylon : drunk and destroyed

                                  → Married to the demons(Rev. 18:23)

∴ Can be healed when coming to Shincheonji, holy city in Rev 22 where the tree of life is

Now on the other hand we are going to take a look at the food of death, Satan’s food which we must absolutely not eat today. First, let’s read the words of Revelation 18:2-3.

2.  With a mighty voice he shouted: "Fallen! Fallen is Babylon the Great! She has become a home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit, a haunt for every unclean and detestable bird.

3.  For all the nations have drunk the maddening wine of her adulteries. The kings of the earth committed adultery with her, and the merchants of the earth grew rich from her excessive luxuries."

Yes, you’ve read well. In Revelation 17, there is a prostitute who has the name Babylon written on her forehead. This prostitute is a false pastor who receives Satan’s seed not God’s seed and raises her children. And it is said that the kings of the earth committed adultery and the inhabitants of the earth were intoxicated with the wine of her adulteries and that is falsehood from the false pastors.

As seen in Revelation 18, this Babylon is the home for demons and a haunt for every evil spirit and it is said that all nations have drunk and maddening wine of her adulteries. In Revelation 18:23, it is also said that all the nations are married to the demons. It is truly a sad and unfortunate reality.

Since it is said that all nations have drunk and were destroyed by the false pastors lies through the wine of adultery which is Satan’s food. There is no exception then, right? What do all of you think? God is life and he is love. In order to heal all these nations that have fallen in Revelation 22, he made the tree of life and he is restoring all nations to the leaves of that tree.

Dear pastors, seminarians and saints all around the world, God is life and he is salvation. I hope that we all come to Shincheonji, the holy city of Revelation 22 where there is a tree of life by believing in God and the word eat the fruit from the tree of life that leads to eternal life and be healed so that we can become the children of God who are with God, Jesus and the kingdom of heaven forever.

▎Conclusion

Now is the conclusion of today’s content.

The two types of spiritual food which we have looked at today are the food that we listen to to eat. There are God’s food which you have eternal life once you eat of it and Satan’s food that you will surely die when you eat of it.

God’s food are the words of life from the true pastor. And Satan’s food are the lies from the false pastor. To eat God’s food is to hear and acknowledge the true pastor’s words of life. And to eat Satan’s food is to accept the false pastor’s lies.

It is all nations. When all nations have drunk, maddening wine of adulteries today, we should not drink the wine of adulteries which is Satan’s food which is the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil. But by receiving and eating the hidden manna which is the food of God or the fruit of the tree of life that comes out from Shincheonji, The Temple of Tabernacle of the Testimony and through the one who overcomes let us become part of the 12 tribes as the priests and the great multitude in white within God’s kingdom. And be the children of God who inherit the kingdom of heaven and eternal life.

Did you all listen well today? Next time we will share on intermediate lesson 16, the place prepared by Jesus and the spirit of truth the counselor with the main reference of John 14 and 16. I hope that it will be a precious time for you to perceive for the spirit of truth the counselor who comes in the name of Jesus comes to and how he works.

Instructor for the next lesson is someone who delivers the word much better than I. And he will come and testify to the word. We will look forward to seeing you again next time. Lastly, we will end by shouting we are one meaning that we are one in God and Jesus. We transcend races, nationalities, and religions and we are one in God. We are one.
