Issue Protest Statement Against Gyeonggi Province’s

Biased Religious Suppression

▎ 1,735 names, including 402 organizations, 758 religious representatives, and 997 notable figures, signed the statement.

▎ “The sudden cancellation of the venue by Gyeonggi Province and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization constitutes clear religious suppression through public authority.”

▎ “Respect for constitutional religious freedom and human rights must be upheld. An official apology and disciplinary action against those responsible are necessary.”

Since November 15, members of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (hereafter referred to as Shincheonji Church), have been holding protests in front of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization. On November 27, religious leaders and opinion leaders gathered in front of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government building to protest.

This gathering aimed to condemn the cancellation of the "Religious Leaders’ Forum and Graduation Ceremony," which was scheduled to take place at Paju Imjingak Peace Nuri last month. The venue was canceled on October 29, the day of the event and one day prior, by the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization. People were gathered to claim violated constitutional rights to religious freedom.

A group of 20 religious leaders, including Christian pastors and Buddhist monks, read a joint protest statement in front of the Gyeonggi Provincial Government building and delivered it to officials.

The joint statement was signed by 402 domestic and international organizations, 758 religious representatives, and 977 prominent figures, amounting to a total of 1,735 signatories.

In their statement, they expressed “deep shock and serious regret” over the cancellation of the event, which was intended to promote peace and commemorate religious freedom, bringing together over 30,000 attendees from 78 countries.

They criticized the unilateral cancellation, pointing out that “event preparations had been conducted lawfully over several months, and even the day before, the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization confirmed there were no plans to cancel.” However, they claimed, “Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization succumbed to pressure from privileged Christian groups and unilaterally canceled the venue on the day of the event.”

Highlighting the inconsistency, they stated, “While other events at the same location were carried out without issue, the abrupt cancellation of this event clearly demonstrates religious suppression using public authority.” They emphasized that “this biased and arbitrary act of religious suppression caused financial losses amounting to hundreds of billions of won and inflicted significant psychological harm on participants from around the world.”

They accused Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization of undermining the constitutional guarantee of religious freedom and the principle of separation of church and state through “irresponsible and oppressive actions.” They demanded accountability and called for an official apology.

They further urged, “Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization must issue a formal apology to domestic and international religious organizations and the global community. Appropriate disciplinary action must also be taken against those responsible to restore the nation’s reputation as a country of law and principles.”

To prevent recurrence, they proposed strengthening fair and transparent venue booking procedures and pre-consultation systems to avoid undue influence from privileged groups.

They also addressed Governor Kim Dong-yeon of Gyeonggi Province, urging him to “take responsibility for the incident and formally apologize to the 30,000 religious leaders and participants from 78 countries who intended to attend the event.”

In conclusion, they stated, “We strongly demand respect for constitutional guarantees of religious freedom and human rights and call for fair treatment of all citizens based on principles and rules. We urge Gyeonggi Province and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization to take swift and concrete actions.”

A representative from Shincheonji Church added, “Given that religious leaders and opinion leaders recognize the severity of this incident and are calling for an official apology and preventive measures, Governor Kim Dong-yeon, Gyeonggi Province, and the Gyeonggi Tourism Organization must clearly state their position on this matter.”

The Re-Creation at the Fulfillment of the New Covenant Revelation

- Adding to or subtracting from Revelation leads to being cursed and barred from heaven -

At the fulfillment of Revelation, the first heaven and the first earth disappear, and a new heaven, new earth, and new chosen people are re-created. These chosen people are not the subject of the kingdom but those harvested and gathered from the east and the west (Matthew 8:11-12). At that time, the subjects of the kingdom will be thrown outside into the darkness, and many will come from the east and west will take their places in the kingdom of heaven. This is the new covenant and the events of Revelation. It is crucial to heed the words of Revelation 22:18-19. Currently, many churches around the world have added to or taken away from the new covenant Revelation.

The New Testament Revelation promises to send a promised pastor after certain events. Are you aware of this? Will people once again persecute this promised pastor by labeling him a heretic, just as people did during Jesus' first coming? Why do people not believe in the new covenant? Today’s Christian leaders, much like the Jewish leaders during Jesus’ first coming, are ignorant of the promised words, yet they are arrogant and trust in themselves. At the time of the Lord’s second coming, which is the fulfillment of Revelation, they neither know who the subjects of the kingdom are nor who those come from the east and west are (Matthew 8:11-12). If they remain unaware, the believers who follow them will also fail to attain salvation (see Matthew 15:14). The second coming of the Lord is like the days of Noah. At that time, creation must occur according to Revelation. If anyone adds to or takes away from Revelation, they cannot enter heaven but will instead face the fires of hell. Why do people not believe, even when they see and hear the truth?

Yet today’s Christian leaders neither understand the events of the new covenant Revelation, nor its key figures or enemies. How, then, can they attain salvation? They mistakenly believe that simply holding onto their congregants ensures salvation. This is a delusion. Salvation requires following the words of the New Testament, being born again according to the New Testament (the four Gospels and Revelation), and being re-created according to Revelation. Without this re-creation, there is no salvation. For salvation today, one must be harvested, sealed, overcome the enemies, and have their name recorded in the promised new kingdom's 12 tribes. Revelation is the blueprint for re-creation. One must examine themselves and ask, “Have I been re-created according to Revelation?” Amen.

SEOUL, NOV 06 — A blatant act in the face of Korea’s Constitution that upholds religious freedom—Gyeonggi-do Government of the South Korean province and its public agency for tourism, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization, committed a reprehensible act that is unjustifiable on any account—an act of religious discrimination.

It seems the Gyeonggi-do government and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization have questionable views on where our country should be heading. Blinded by the political interest of the few, such decisions and actions that divide the nation, divide a religion, and could potentially lead the country into ruin begs the question of whether that is their objective.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus reserved the Imjingak Pyeonghwa Nuri Park (the name translates to World of Peace Park) from October 29 to 31 to host the Religious Leaders’ Forum and its Graduation Ceremony on the 30th. Hundreds of thousands, including graduates and religious leaders, arrived in Korea to attend the fully prepared, full-fledged international event that cost tens of billions of Korean Won in preparation. However, on October 29, the first day of the scheduled use of the venue, Gyeonggi Tourism Organization sent a surprise notification. They were canceling the venue reservation without any prior talks with the church. It is a complete mistreatment by a public agency toward its own people, and the display of illegitimate action seriously harmed the national standing of the Republic of Korea. How does one even explain to the religious leaders who traveled from their home countries to Korea to attend or to the graduates when something like this is done?  While Korea boasts Hallyu and hails globalization, Gyeonggi-do’s actions have become a source of national disgrace, bringing shame on an international scale by committing religious persecution. Are those accountable trying to prod Shincheonji Church of Jesus to rally against them?

All administrative procedures had been completed accordingly. After the venue lease was authorized on July 22, the payment was completed by October 2. At working-level meetings with the authorizers on October 16, the details were revised, including the scale of the event, floor plans, safety plans, and plans for special effects fireworks. Gyeonggi Tourism Organization deliberated all event details and completed a safety inspection. The same day, the news reported that Gyeonggi-do had designated Paju City as a danger zone. When asked about it, authorizers responded that the designation was to prevent any anti-North Korean flyers from the region and was unrelated to the event scheduled at the venue. There was no prior notice or regulation related to the designation or to the church’s inquiries of any changes. Moreover, the people in charge of the venue officially confirmed twice, on October 23 and then on 28, that they had no intention of canceling the venue authorization.

A government body or public agency authorizes an event to be held at a venue, an event fully proofed with safety assessments, then suddenly cancels the venue on the very day of the event following opposition from a certain religious group, then decides to use the pretext of “provocation against North Korea.” This significantly discredits the agency of public administration, and at the same time, those actions are the kind of actions that create a divide among the people and the nation it is mandated to serve. Furthermore, Gyeonggi-do Governor Kim Dong-yeon ordered the cancellation of the venue based on a thin premise of “provoking the North,” while other events took place at the exact location with no issue. An administrative action swayed by opposing opinions from a certain religious group directly violates the constitutional principle of the Separation of the Churches and the State and is an unconstitutional act profoundly deplorable in a democracy.

Is it the Gyeonggi provincial government and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization’s intent to drive Shincheonji Church of Jesus out of this land? It is unheard of for a public entity to overturn its own administrative action influenced by a disgruntled religious organization. We are rightful citizens of this country. We have no reason to be discriminated against in lawfully utilizing a public facility that is operated with our tax money.

We cannot tolerate discrimination any longer. After years of tireless efforts to find amicable solutions, such disappointing outcomes are enough to drive the church's people to the streets to protect their rights and demand justice.

People at Shincheonji Church of Jesus are not second-class citizens who deserve discrimination or high-handedness, nor should there be any such thing as a second-class citizen. If those responsible believe their bias and persecution would spell peace for the nation, they are mistaken.

With grave concern, the people of Shincheonji Church request the following: Gyeonggi-do provincial government and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization must provide the people of Korea with a reasonable cause and rationale for its cancellation in detail; issue an official apology to all members of the church and the guests invited from home and abroad; and immediately stop discrimination based on religion in administrative actions. We, the people of Shincheonji Church of Jesus, expect a responsible reply and will otherwise seek all legal measures to resolve the issue while hundreds of thousands of church members could take to the streets demanding answers. International human rights groups will hear detailed accounts of the religious discrimination taking place in Korea, and so will civil and criminal courts.

Every citizen of the nation holds equal rights, and freedom of religion is non-negotiable. Shincheonji Church of Jesus and its congregation will see to it that everyone enjoys freedom of religion without discrimination.

[Shincheonji Church] Rally to Denounce Religious Persecusion

< Resolution > 

Today, we strongly denounce the biased administrative oppression against a religion committed by Gyeonggi-do government and Gyeonggi Tourism Organization in violation of Article 20 of the Constitution.

 

Article 1 of the Constitution of the Republic of Korea states that Korea shall be a democratic republic, that its sovereignty resides in the people, and that all state authority shall emanate from the people. Members of Shincheonji Church are citizens of the Republic of Korea. When a politician sides with a certain religion to make decisions that divide the people and takes hardhanded measures that harass Shincheonji Church, committing religious persecution based on favoritism, we shall fight against it and stand up for our rights.

 Shincheonji Church will not succumb to external pressure at any rate. As God and Jesus have overcome, in the face of such unfairness and religious persecution, Shincheonji Church will prevail.

 

Therefore, we resolve as follows:

 

We shall employ all legal measures to ensure that the abuse of political authority fueled by religious discrimination stops immediately and systemic changes are made in the institution to prevent future cases;

 We shall inform international human rights groups of the current religious oppression taking place in South Korea and bring the situation to the attention of the global community to protect our human rights;

 

We shall continue to fight until the demands for a sincere apology from Gyeonggi-do Governor Kim Dong-yeon and rightful repayment in damages from Gyeonggi Tourism Organization are met;

 

We shall continue to fight until every citizen of this nation is treated fairly and equally, without discrimination, and fully enjoys freedom of religion as stipulated in Article 20 of the Constitution.

you cannot enter heaven and will be cursed.

▎ Shincheonji has mastered Revelation, while Protestantism has add to and take away from it.

"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth, for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away..." (Rev 21:1). In this verse, Shincheonji (新天地) is derived from the Chinese characters meaning "new heaven and new earth" (新天新地).

"Protestant pastors and congregations, Shincheonji has mastered Revelation, while Protestantism has added to or taken away from it. So, which of the two is heretical—Shincheonji or Protestantism? Answer for yourselves. Is it Shincheonji, or is it Protestantism?"

During Jesus' first coming, the Jews labeled Jesus as heretical. Similarly, today, Protestantism calls the "new heaven and new earth," that is, Shincheonji, heretical. Shincheonji has mastered Revelation, whereas Protestantism has added to and taken away from the book of Revelation. Which of these two groups will go to heaven, and which will go to hell? Read Revelation 22:18–19 and decide for yourselves. Who is born of God’s seed, and who is born of Satan’s seed? The New Testament provides the answer.

At the time of first coming, Jesus sowed God’s seed, while Satan sowed Satan’s seed (the weeds). These two seeds have grown together in one field (Christianity) until today. At the time of the Second Coming, the time of harvest has arrived. As stated in Matthew 13, those born of God’s seed are harvested. But, those born of Satan’s seed are not harvested and remain tied to the field where they grew. Why does Protestantism not believe this word? Shincheonji was born of God’s seed, has been harvested, has been sealed, and has been recreated as the promised new nation of the 12 tribes. “Protestant pastors, to which tribe of Revelation do you belong?”

It’s been approximately 2,000 years since the book of Revelation was written. No one in heaven or earth has known its meaning. However, now the prophecies of Revelation have been fulfilled, and its reality has appeared. Shincheonji, which Protestant pastors label heretical, has mastered even these fulfilled realities. So who is heretical, and who is the orthodox truth? “Pastors, give your answer. Revelation warns that adding to or taking away from its words will result in exclusion from heaven and receiving curses (Rev 22:18–19). Protestantism appears to add to and take away from the book of Revelation. This makes them heretical. Heretics, can you master Revelation? Those who add to or take away from Revelation cannot enter heaven. But Shincheonji, which has mastered Revelation and established the 12 tribes according to its words, will enter heaven. Amen.
