Practices Environmental Love
through Carbon Neutrality Campaign

On July 3, the Jeonju branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group (headed by Choi Joong-il) conducted a “Carbon Neutrality Campaign” around Geonjisan Mountain and the Sori Arts Center to raise awareness about energy conservation and environmental protection.

This campaign was held in support of the government’s 2050 carbon neutrality goal and aimed to encourage citizen participation for meaningful change.

Despite the summer heat, more than 50 volunteers participated in explaining “zero waste” practices—reducing trash and promoting recycling—while emphasizing the need to conserve energy.

To promote the “Carbon Neutrality Points” program, they distributed ice-cold bottled water with informative stickers encouraging citizens to get involved in sustainable actions.

The stickers outlined actionable steps such as using electronic receipts, switching to reusable cups, properly sorting recyclables, and joining the Climate Companion 1.5°C app.

After the campaign, volunteers also engaged in “Plogging,” collecting litter while walking, further demonstrating their commitment to protecting the environment.

Participant Mr. Yoo (63, alias) said, “Learning about the Carbon Neutrality Points program has made me more conscious of waste separation. I’ve realized that small actions can create big changes.”

Branch leader Choi Joong-il stated, “Practicing carbon neutrality doesn’t require grand gestures—it starts with small choices in daily life. Let’s take that first step together for a sustainable environment.”

The Jeonju branch will continue to promote environmental awareness through regular carbon neutrality campaigns and nature preservation activities, fulfilling their mission of sharing and service in the local community.
