Throughout 2025, the Seodaemun Branch of Shincheonji Volunteer Group consistently carried out community service across Seodaemun and Mapo districts. Their activities ranged from welfare sharing to environmental clean-ups and public awareness campaigns. In total, they reached 21 locations and served 2,775 residents. What stood out most was not the scale, but the sincerity behind each action. Their approach focused on being present where and when help was truly needed.
One of their core initiatives was the monthly “Chak-Chak Campaign,” which promotes good giving and conscious consumption. The team regularly donated essential items such as cooking oil, ramen, flour, and other daily necessities to a local food market. During the holiday season, they also delivered rice cake soup ingredients to elderly care institutions. These gestures helped ease gaps in support during sensitive times. Over time, repeated encounters built trust and familiarity with local partners.
Rather than stopping at delivery, the volunteers treated each visit as the beginning of engagement. They carefully checked on-site logistics, prepared layouts, and assisted with setup and transport. Clear guidance materials were provided to ensure a smooth experience for beneficiaries. Many partner organizations noted how much easier their work became. This hands-on attitude made a real difference in the field.
Their public campaigns were closely tied to everyday life. In spring, they organized wildfire prevention activities along the Ansan cherry blossom path. From summer through fall, multiple no-smoking and clean-up campaigns took place in the Yonsei-ro area of Sinchon. Interactive quizzes and clear signage encouraged citizen participation. Safety measures, especially during hot weather, were also carefully prepared.
One of the most touching programs was the “Beautiful senior, Bravo life!” emotional care initiative for seniors. At a local daycare center, volunteers hosted mini concerts, nail art sessions, and hand massages. The atmosphere quickly filled with smiles and laughter. Seniors expressed their gratitude through warm gestures and words. It showed how emotional connection can be just as powerful as material support.
The Seodaemun Branch described 2025 as a year defined by the “continuity of sincerity.” It was a time spent listening closely to the voices of beneficiaries and reflecting their feedback in future activities, all while sharing in the everyday life of the community. The volunteering was not grand or showy, which made it all the more memorable.
