Shincheonji Volunteer Group Jecheon Branch Builds
Emotional Bonds with Veterans Through “Companion” Program

Last month, a meaningful volunteer activity took place in Jecheon. The Shincheonji Volunteer Group’s Jecheon branch organized its regular program “Companion,” creating a warm and supportive environment for local veterans. More than just assistance, the program focuses on building emotional connections. Participants found comfort and renewed energy through these interactions.

The “Companion” program is held monthly, steadily strengthening relationships with local veterans. This time, it stood out by combining professional grooming services with a hands-on activity. It went beyond basic volunteering by encouraging active participation. The atmosphere at the venue was lively and cheerful from the very beginning.

During the grooming session, skilled volunteers carefully styled each participant’s hair according to their preferences. The seniors, seeing their refreshed appearance, smiled and engaged in friendly conversations. Even small changes brought a great sense of satisfaction. It was a moment filled with genuine human connection.

The back scratcher decorating activity further heightened participants’ interest. Each person colored and decorated their own piece, creating something unique. The hands-on process naturally improved focus while providing enjoyment. It was especially heartwarming to see them compliment each other’s creations.

This program was designed not only as an activity but also to support cognitive health among seniors. Fine motor movements combined with visual stimulation created positive effects. Most importantly, making something practical for everyday use added deeper value. Participants showed a high level of satisfaction throughout the experience.

One of the participants expressed deep gratitude toward the volunteers who visit every month. They shared that the sincerity could be felt through the careful grooming service. They also felt proud and happy thinking about using the back scratcher they made themselves. Such reflections highlighted the true value of the program.

The volunteers also formed meaningful bonds through these regular encounters. Over time, they began to feel like family to one another. They made an effort to express respect through even the smallest actions. These sincere intentions contributed to creating an even warmer atmosphere.

Moving forward, the Jecheon branch plans to continue offering diverse programs to enrich the lives of veterans. Their goal is not only to provide support but also to reduce social isolation and expand communication. They are expected to play an important role in connecting generations within the community. Through consistent efforts, these activities will continue to create lasting value.
