In China, religious law called 'Religious Affairs' has been in effect since early 2018. This is a very strict religious law. Accordingly, all Shincheonji churches in China were closed in 2018. Therefore, as of 15th of June, 2018, Wuhan church is also closed its place, turning all meetings and worship services online and operating autonomously.

Shincheonji church calls 'church' if there are more than 120 administrative members. Wuhan was also called 'church' as of 1st of Jan. 2019 since there were more than 120 members enrolled in 2018. However, there are no church buildings. The number of congregants is confirmed to be 357. Wuhan church belongs to Busan James Tribe and has no connection with Daegu church of Thaddeus Tribe.
