Typhoon Hinamno, Shincheonji volunteer group conduct volunteer work to recover from damage
The Daegu-Gyeongbuk Federation of Shincheonji Volunteers visited the disaster site in the shopping district around Buk-gu, Pohang, Gyeongsangbuk-do, which was damaged by the impact of Typhoon Hinnamno on the 7th.
They provided a helping hand to the local residents by volunteering for damage recovery.
About 100 volunteers participated in this volunteer activity, and they cleaned the streets covered with garbage around Duho General Market in Changpo-dong, Buk-gu, Pohang and Daedong Woobang Shopping Mall in Wuchang-dong, washing household items, etc., and cleaning up the soil inside the store.
A woman in her 50s, who said she was fully prepared but suffered from damage, said, "It's a tragic feeling, but it's so reassuring and good to see the volunteers taking care of the work." "It's very helpful and comforting."
Kim Sang-don (60), who suffered from the 5th flood damage in his 27th year of business, said, “The damage this time was the biggest and I was frustrated. Shincheonji volunteers came every time when needed. Thank you for helping me overcome difficulties.”
Noh Heung-sam, president of the Daegu-Gyeongbuk Federation of Shincheonji Volunteers, said, “We heard that Pohang residents were difficult and came to volunteer. When thinking of the people of Pohang who suffered damage, my heart aches and I hope that the damage will be restored as soon as possible. We will continue to support and pray so that we can overcome these difficulties and finish it well.”
Meanwhile, the Shincheonji Volunteer is continuously making efforts for various social volunteer activities such as 'Protect the green nature', 'The more the better', and 'Good donation good consumption' for local residents.
