Shincheonji Church of Jesus, the Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony (Chairman Man Hee Lee, hereinafter Shincheonji Church), held its 41st anniversary service on the 14th at Shincheonji Cheongju Church. The event served as an opportunity to reflect on the church’s progress since its founding in 1984, share its achievements, and outline its future vision.
Approximately 5,000 people gathered at the Cheongju Church to celebrate the anniversary, while those unable to attend in person joined the event via live broadcast at every Shincheonji churche both domestically and internationally.
The anniversary service included ▲ an introduction to the 41st anniversary, ▲ a special video presentation, and ▲ a historical report on Shincheonji Church.
During his address, Chairman Man Hee Lee urged believers to deepen their faith and spiritual growth in accordance with the Bible. Chairman Lee stated, “God wants us to be perfectly created through His Word. Each of us must become one with this Word. We must also realize the realities which are fulfilled according to the book of Revelation. Only then can both our desires and God’s will be fulfilled.”
Chairman Lee also said, “I have repeatedly proposed a test before all believers to determine who speaks the truth and who does not, based on the Bible. Both Shincheonji Church and Protestantism practice the faith based on the same Bible. Instead of persecuting each other or engaging in unnecessary debates over heresy, let us make judgments based on the Scriptures.”
Chairman Lee continued, “What is beyond human ability should be entrusted to God, but what is within human capability must be done by us. Do not criticize others; instead, strive first to achieve perfection like God. Furthermore, let us practice our faith with a sense of mission to help others so that they may become like us. Let us become true believers of Shincheonji Church who are recognized by God.”
According to the historical report presented earlier, Shincheonji Church has shown exceptional growth even in a globally declining atmosphere of Christianity, regardless of denomination or sect. Through the Zion Christian Mission Center, the church produced 103,764 graduates in the class 110 graduation ceremony in 2019. In 2022 and 2023, the church produced 106,186 and 108,084 graduates, respectively. In 2024, the number of graduates reached an unprecedented 111,628, setting a new record.
The number of MOU for biblical exchange and MOA for church name changes is also steadily increasing. As of late February, Shincheonji Church had signed biblical exchange MOUs with 819 churches in Korea and 13,835 churches in 88 countries, committing to follow-up education. Additionally, 87 churches in Korea and 1,552 churches in 45 countries have changed their church names to Shincheonji Church.
Choi Yong-soo (49, alias, male, Buk-gu, Gwangju), a believer of 28 years, recalled, “I first joined Shincheonji Church during my university years after hearing the Word. Back then, our church was a small 30-pyeong (approximately 99 square meters) worship hall in Jungheung-dong, Buk-gu, Gwangju, where about 1,000 believers gathered for worship.”
He added, “Seeing the remarkable growth of Shincheonji Church, I feel that the words of God, ‘Your beginning will seem humble, so prosperous will your future be’ are being fulfilled. I will continue to strive to be a true believer who believes in and follows the words of God and Jesus.”
Furthermore, Shincheonji Church continues to contribute to society through blood donation campaigns and plasma donation initiatives, practicing love for life. Notably, in 2022, the church set a Guinness World Record when 71,121 people applied for blood donation online within 24 hours.
The saint, Song Soo-kyung (31, female, Sinbaek-dong, Jecheon City), expressed her gratitude, saying, “I am truly happy and thankful to be part of Shincheonji Church’s 41st anniversary. I sincerely appreciate Chairman Man Hee Lee and all the senior saints who have dedicated themselves to spreading the Word over the past 41 years. I will continue to spread God’s love and practice my faith.”
Shincheonji Church stated, “We give all glory to God for allowing us to achieve remarkable growth, domestic and international accomplishments, and meaningful contributions to society over the past year. Moving forward, we will fully embody the meaning of our slogan, ‘A Year of Love and Blessings,’ and continue to spread the light of the Word of Revelation to the world.”
Notably, attendees made efforts to minimize the use of private vehicles and actively utilized public transportation to avoid traffic congestion. A church official remarked, “We conducted thorough simulations with transportation safety volunteers to prevent accidents or excessive congestion. We sincerely appreciate the cooperation of all attendees.”
