[Statement] Condemnation and Warning Regarding the Political Scheming to Fabricate a False Image of Political Connections with Shincheonji Church
Shincheonji Church of Jesus condemns the recent acts of spreading unfounded false claims aimed at linking the church to a specific political group or candidate, orchestrated by political entities.
The church has no political ties to politicians or political parties and does not engage in any political activities. It is solely dedicated to the essence of religion, spreading the good news, and teaching the Bible, and it neither intends to nor involves itself in politics
However, the ongoing scapegoating aimed at swaying voters, the schemes to create division within the religious community, and the incitement of deeper divides among the people have become unacceptable.
This goes beyond negative campaigning and constitutes a serious violation of the freedom of religion and the fundamental rights of individuals as outlined in the Constitution.
The church hereby issues a solemn warning: from this point forward, it will pursue all legal avenues in criminal and civil courts against any statements or actions that attempt to entangle the church in political interests or propagate false claims.
Every individual and organization that plots, produces, disseminates, or facilitates fake news will be held legally accountable.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus will not yield to the distortions and tactics of political powers and will remain steadfast in its mission to build a peaceful faith community through the word of Truth and Bible teachings.
We urge politicians to cease the deceptive scheming, dividing the people, and using religion as a scapegoat for political ends immediately.
Shincheonji Church of Jesus will hold accountable all attempts to distort the truth and will respond by seeking all necessary measures.
