We Are One Geoje Branch Spreads Warmth Through Blood Donation
The Youth Volunteer Group We Are One Geoje Branch of Busan Gyeongnam Western Region Alliance (led by Branch Director Yeom Dong-il), recently held the “We Are Red Blood Donation Campaign (Second Half of the Year)” at Geoje City Hall Square.
The campaign was organized in collaboration with the Korean Red Cross Gyeongnam Blood Center to help ease the regional blood shortage. Participants donated their blood donation certificates, putting the spirit of life-sharing into action.
To make the event more engaging, not only members of We Are One but also local citizens took part, adding to the heartwarming atmosphere. The Geoje branch prepared various programs to encourage blood donation and handed out meaningful gifts that carried messages about the importance of donating blood.
A high school senior who donated blood for the first time shared, “I was finally able to donate after my birthday, and it felt so meaningful. I realized that giving blood is not only a valuable act of sharing life but also a precious gift for someone in need.” Another participant said, “When I read the message on the gift — ‘The most precious present I can give’ — it made me truly appreciate the value of blood donation.”
A representative of the We Are One Geoje Branch stated, “We are always touched by the people who continuously take part in these efforts. We will continue to encourage more members to join and lead the way in saving lives.”
A representative from the Gyeongnam Blood Center of the Korean Red Cross said, “We deeply appreciate the We Are One volunteers for their active participation whenever blood supplies are low. Especially during times when donations decrease, the involvement of branches like Geoje’s has been a tremendous help in stabilizing our regional blood supply.”
Meanwhile, the We Are Red Campaign continues nationwide until the 18th, aiming for 10,000 successful blood donations across the country. This campaign by the Geoje branch of We Are One went beyond a simple blood drive — it reminded everyone that “small actions can bring great impact”, spreading warmth and compassion throughout the community.
