Winter Kimchi Sharing Volunteer Event by Shincheonji John Tribe

As winter approached once again, the Shincheonji Church of Jesus, John Tribe, carried out a meaningful kimchi-making volunteer event. This year’s activity was especially significant because it marked the first volunteer service for the graduates of the Zion Christian Mission Center's 116th class after joining the church.

On the 29th, around 200 church members gathered at Olympic Park in front of Suwon City Hall to make kimchi together, including more than 100 graduates from the 116th class. It was inspiring to see them begin their new faith journey with acts of service.

The volunteers prepared 2,100 kilograms of kimchi, which will be delivered to 500 households of national merit recipients and their families. Church members took part in every step—from harvesting cabbage and preparing ingredients to mixing and packaging the kimchi.

One participant shared, “I wanted to pass on the love I have received from God to my neighbors,” expressing a wish for everyone to spend a warm winter. Another volunteer said, “I’m grateful for the opportunity to put Jesus’ teachings into practice.”

The head of the John tribe Seong Chang-ho expressed gratitude, saying, “This kimchi-sharing event was prepared to share the grace we received from God and Jesus with our community.” He added that he hopes the kimchi will offer warmth and comfort to national patriots and promised the tribe’s continued commitment to community service.

Meanwhile, on the 2nd, Shincheonji Church of Jesus held the 116th Zion Christian Mission Center graduation ceremony, celebrating 59,192 graduates. After completing six months of free Bible education, the graduates officially join the church and begin their faith journey.

This kimchi-sharing volunteer event was a meaningful opportunity to bring warmth to the local community. I look forward to seeing more acts of kindness and service from the John Tribe in the days ahead.
