Shincheonji Volunteer Group Cheongpyeong Branch Brings Joy to Seniors of Bangil 3-ri, Gapyeong
The Cheongpyeong Branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group recently carried out a heartwarming volunteer activity at the Bangil 3-ri village hall in Seorak-myeon, Gapyeong. Thirteen volunteers participated, bringing energy and smiles to the community. The visit was especially meaningful as it reached seniors who have difficulty traveling far from their village.
Under the slogan “Beautiful senior, Bravo life!”, the program aimed to support seniors in enjoying a healthy and fulfilling later life. Rather than focusing on one-sided assistance, the activities were designed to bring joy and meaningful experiences. The excitement and curiosity on the seniors’ faces filled the venue with warmth.
A variety of services were offered, including haircuts, paraffin hand care, dementia prevention activities, craft workshops, air-purifying plant creations, and even nostalgic dalgona-making. Hand care services were especially popular among seniors who often experience joint pain from farm work. The practical nature of the programs made them even more appreciated.
Around 30 seniors took part in the event, with activities thoughtfully tailored to their preferences and memories. One senior proudly shared that the haircut made her feel prettier and happily posed for photos. Moments like these highlighted the genuine connection formed between volunteers and participants.
The village’s senior association leader expressed sincere gratitude to the volunteers for visiting despite their busy schedules. One volunteer shared how deeply moved she was seeing seniors proudly hold their crafts, saying they wanted to show them to their grandchildren. It was a day filled with shared warmth and heartfelt exchanges.
The Cheongpyeong Branch plans to continue engaging with the community through environmental campaigns, blood donation drives, and winter snow removal services. Guided by the belief that small actions can create meaningful change, they remain committed to service. Their steady efforts continue to bring positive energy to the local community.
