Conducts Environmental Cleanup Activities
Around the Namgang Riverside.

On the 27th of last month, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Jinju Branch carried out an environmental cleanup campaign along the Namgang riverside, from Jinyangho Lake to the area near Jinju City Hall. The activity, titled “Protect the Green Nature,” was organized to remove litter left in everyday surroundings and help create a cleaner community. It is part of their ongoing regular volunteer efforts to serve the local area.

A total of 27 volunteers participated in the cleanup. Wearing yellow vests and carrying 20-liter trash bags, they divided into teams and worked in assigned sections. Starting from the Namgang riverside, the groups moved in two directions toward the pedestrian overpass near City Hall.

The volunteers carefully collected litter from walking paths, roadsides, and grassy areas. Throughout the activity, many citizens expressed their encouragement and appreciation. Some even stopped to take photos, sharing supportive words for the volunteers’ efforts.

Approximately 300 liters of trash were collected that day, filling around fifteen 20-liter bags. The amount gathered highlighted the importance of consistent environmental care. It was a meaningful reminder that even small actions can lead to significant change when done together.

One volunteer shared that seeing the cleaner streets after the cleanup brought a strong sense of fulfillment. They expressed gratitude for the opportunity to personally contribute to protecting the local environment. Such reflections continue to motivate the group to carry on their service.

The Jinju Branch plans to continue engaging with citizens through “Protect the Green Nature” and other volunteer initiatives. By maintaining regular service activities, they aim to contribute to a cleaner and healthier community. With monthly cleanups already in place, they look forward to bringing lasting positive change to the region.
