Shincheonji Volunteer Group Rescues Elderly Couple
with Dementia Trapped in a 7.5-Ton “Mountain of Garbage”

I recently came across news about a meaningful volunteer effort carried out by the Gangdong Branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group. This activity was more than just a cleaning service, as it focused on improving the living conditions of a vulnerable household struggling with serious hygiene issues. What stood out most was the dedication shown toward supporting a family that had been carrying the heavy burden of caregiving for a long time. Thanks to the sincere efforts of the volunteers, the home was transformed into a much safer and cleaner environment.

The volunteer event was carried out together with the Gangdong District Association for the Disabled, allowing the support work to be more organized and effective. Volunteers cleaned out large amounts of waste from the home and also carried out pest control work to improve sanitation. Even though the environment had been difficult to manage for a long time, the participants worked together smoothly and efficiently as a team. It was inspiring to see everyone continue the work with dedication despite the challenging conditions.

What remained most memorable was the compassion shown by the volunteers. They did not simply clean the house, but worked carefully with the hope that the elderly residents could live in a healthier and more comfortable environment. Efforts like these remind us how powerful community support and kindness can be for people in need. I truly admire the volunteers who continue to share love and care through their actions behind the scenes.
