SHINCHEONJI YDP CHURCH

 3rd group plasma donation of 4,000 congregants

Starting Monday which is the 16th of November, the group plasma donation takes place. About 4,000 congregants of  Shincheonji Daegu church are participating in. 

Around the world, people who are infected and deaths by the virus are increasing. So, the importance of vaccine and treatment is becoming more critical. 

There is no vaccine nor proven cure to stop the virus. Scientists and healthcare workers are working hard 24/7 in order to stop COVID 19 from causing more casualties. Since there is no an effective treatment, it is necessary to develop plasma treatment through group plasma donations quickly.

Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency formally requested to Shincheonji church for plasma donation. In the mid February, thousands of Shincheonji congregants were infected, suffered and recovered from COVID. So, they were asked to participate in donating their plasma. 

Kwon Joon Wook, Deputy Director of Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency said "In order to develop plasma treatment, about 4,000 church members of Shincheonji plan to participate to donate their plasma. We are thankful for the active participation of Shincheonji and for the cooperation of Daegu City and the Korean Red Cross."

Shincheonji church already conducted group plasma donation twice in July and September.  So far, a total of 2,030 people participated in the donation. Among them, about 1,700 people are church members of Shincheonji. As before, the donors declined receiving compensation expense. 

A congregant said "I was grateful to hear on the news that the plasma treatment is being used. It is the most valuable thing. All congregants of our church realized that the power to overcome COVID is tolerance, love and unity. We will put in our effort to overcome COVID."
