Q) What is the true meaning of the figurative censer? A) The heart of man

[1] Figurative Censer (incense, smoke of the incense)

⏵Physical characteristics: a bowl which holds fire (censer used for ancestral rites), burns incense.

1) The origin of a censer

Ex 25:8-9
Heb 8:5	Tabernacle: a copy and shadow of what is in heaven
Heb 9:4	Tabernacle: golden censer (used in the Most Holy Place)
Heb 9:9-10	Tabernacle: parable (imposed on them until the time of the new order)

2) The meaning of a censer

⏵ Meaning: When you put fire in a censer and burn incense, the smoke of the incense goes up. Similarly, when one puts the word in his or her heart and prays earnestly according to God’s will, then that prayer will rise up to God.

⏵ Meaning: an angel (spirit) works through the one (flesh, censer) who understood God’s word (fire) and judges those who betrayed who are like the earth.

⏵ Physical characteristics: boils something

Eze 11:3-4

Pot = city (organization like church) / meat = people

1) Pot of betrayal (God’s side → Satan’s side): rusty pot

Eze 24:3-6	Rebellious people = figuratively compared to a “rusty pot”
Mic 3:1-3, 11	Pan and pot: church, meat: God’s people

⏵ Meaning: false pastors (wood) teach the saints of their church (pot) with the fire of the evil spirit (lies). Just like rusty water soaks into the meat, the teaching of Satan, lies, is soaked into the saints, which kills and tears away the spirits of the saints.

2) God’s pot: holy pot (Zech 8:3)

Zech 14:20-21

Pan and pot: church, meat: God’s people

⏵ Meaning: on that day, the true pastor teaches the saints of God’s church with the word of truth, the fire of holy spirit, and creates them into believers that can enter into the kingdom of heaven by obeying God’s will

3) Satan’s pot: boiling pot

Jer 1:13-16

Boiling pot: North → South: Jerusalem

⏵ Meaning: like a rusty pot before God, the rebellious people. Jerusalem, burn incense to other gods and worship idols. So God says He will send the gentile people of the north that are like the boiling pot to judge them.
