[Shincheonji Doctrine Comparison] Who is 'The Rich Man' in Revelation 3?
"A spiritual rich man who knows a lot of the Word and lacks nothing in his heart"
[Shincheonji Church of Jesus, The Temple of the Tabernacle of the Testimony]
Today, as it is said that this is the age of mammonism, everyone is dreaming of becoming wealthy. In Revelation 3, Jesus says to buy gold refined in the fire and become rich, a rich man.
When we look at the conclusion, the rich man in Revelation 3 is a spiritually rich man who knows a lot of the Word and lacks nothing in his heart. Gold refined in the fire is a precious and unchanging Word of God.
What is the rich man in the prophecy? In the physical world, a person who possesses a lot of physical wealth such as gold, silver, pearls, and precious stones is said to be rich. Like this, those who possess a lot of spiritual wealth are called spiritually rich.
Who is the rich man in this text? In the book of Revelation, in which the events of the Second Coming of the Lord are recorded, seven angels, seven stars of the temple of the tabernacle of the seven golden lampstands that prepare the way before the Lord appear first. However, the destroyer Nicolaitans entered there and fed the seven stars sacrificed to idols, which caused the seven stars to betray and be destroyed. At that time, Jesus appears to John and tells him to send a letter. And, John sends a letter to the seven stars who betrayed to urge them to repent.
The apostle John and the seven churches were under the guise of the place and name of that time. The seven churches and seven stars in the text are called secrets, so they are not the seven churches in Asia Minor at that time, but they are the temple of the tabernacle of seven golden lampstands and seven angels that will appear at the second coming. In addition, a shepherd who is in the same position as the apostle John, a New John, appears and testifies after hearing and witnessing.
Among them, the text is what Jesus sent to the church in Laodicea through the apostle John. This angel was at ease, thinking he had everything. Because he is neither cold nor hot, Jesus said for him to be cold or hot. Otherwise, Jesus will spit him out of the mouth of Jesus.
In that case, would it not be being thrown away from the belonging of Jesus? So it says to repent. What does it mean that the angel of the church in Laodicea considers himself rich? This means that he knows a lot of the words of God, such as gold, silver, and treasure, so there is nothing lacking in his heart. But the reality of these people is that they are poor people who do not have the word of truth. It doesn't mean a physically rich man.
In Revelation 6, when Jesus measured the faith and deeds of the betrayed saints with the scale of the Word, there were so few people who had the seed of the Word that was compared to a quart of wheat and three quarts of barley for a day's wages. Therefore, in order to turn the idle angels back, Jesus made known their faults through the Prophet John, and gave warnings and recommendations.
2000 years ago, Jesus said, “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Also, he said that 'Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness'. If you are a believer who hopes for heaven, you do not say that you know the kingdom of heaven and are rich, but you must seek, ask and knock on the word of life to become a believer recognized by God.
You should not be content with what you have and become complacency and indolent believers. Such a believer is like the one who received the one talent of gold and hid in the ground without gaining in Matthew 25. The master calls him an evil and lazy servant, and he fails to participate in his master's feast and is driven out into darkness.
In the last hour, all believers must look back on themselves and strive to be born again of water and the Holy Spirit. Also, Jesus tells us to buy gold refined in the fire and become rich. This gold is the precious and unchanging word of God like the pure gold from the furnace. If so, how can we buy this word?
Jesus said that he would give the hidden manna, the food of eternal life, the word of revelation to a person who fought and overcame the Nicolaitans, the destroyers who entered the church of seven golden lampstands. As promised, the new John, the one who overcame the Nicolaitans in Revelation 12, receives the opened book from the angel and eats it in Revelation 10, and prophecies again to many people, nations, tongues, and kings. This new John is the one who saw and heard the reality that took place at the scene of the Revelation event, and who is the messenger of Jesus sent for the churches. Only through this new John, we can hear the word of revelation, and this word of revelation is the gold refined in the fire in Revelation 3.
"Wealthy people, wealthy in materials, gold to buy, faith in the Lord
[Existing Denomination Full Gospel Church Pastor A]
Compared to our childhood, our Republic of Korea is also living incredibly well. So, because people are living much better than before, people feel very proud of their physical and social condition and they do not feel they need God's help because they think they are living well.
‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ is external and material and spiritually poor, pitiful, blind and naked. The more you say you are materially wealthy and lacking nothing, the poorer you become spiritually.
‘Buy gold refined in the fire and become rich. The gold refined in the fire’ means is faith. Faith believing in the Lord, faith refined in the fire, Doesn’t Jesus give us faith as a gift? Become rich with this faith. Faith is the rich.

I'm grateful to understand the figurative language of the Bible and the reasons why it has been written in this language. This is the language of heaven that everyone can know!
