Shincheonji’s Bible Teachings Captivate Even the Non-Religious...
57% of Graduates Identify as Having No Religion

Recently, I came across the survey results released by Shincheonji Church of Jesus, and I found something quite interesting. With over half of the participants identifying as non-religious, I became curious about what made even those with no religious background feel such significant change.

According to the survey, 97.9% of the graduates responded that they were satisfied with the changes they experienced after completing the program. What struck me most was that many reported deep emotional shifts, such as inner peace and relief from anxiety, rather than just mild satisfaction.

What’s fascinating is that these changes were particularly strong among younger participants. One graduate in their 20s confessed that their fear of death had eased, while others said they finally found “direction” or “purpose” in life.

Personally, the response that said “the emptiness in my life disappeared” stood out to me. Many participants mentioned that the program made them reflect on life beyond religious teachings, suggesting that it offered more than just a Bible study experience.

Another interesting point is that 57% of the graduates identified as having no religion. The fact that even non-believers felt a sense of “authenticity” from the teachings suggests that the program may have served as a path of self-discovery rather than straightforward religious outreach.

It’s also notable that 99.6% of participants said the program helped them better understand the Bible. The satisfaction rate with the instructors was also high, which makes me reconsider the overall quality of the educational structure itself.

Shincheonji Church of Jesus stated that the program aims to help people “find meaning in life” and “recover the essence of the Word,” and based on the participants’ responses, it seems that the program does achieve that to some extent.

Beyond religion, in a time where anxiety and emptiness have become so common, giving people a chance to pause and reflect on their lives might be meaningful in itself.
