"We Will Never Forget Your Sacrifice": Commemorative Patriotic Service Plaques Presented to 59 National Veterans
In the Republic of Korea, June is observed as the Month of Patriots and Veterans because the Korean War broke out in June. Every year, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group commemorates this meaningful month by organizing events that remind people that the peace, freedom, and everyday life we enjoy today were built upon the sacrifices and dedication of countless individuals who served and gave their lives for the nation.
This year, the Masan Branch visited local national veterans to express its gratitude by presenting summer care packages filled with daily necessities, along with commemorative framed portraits. The event was organized to honor those who devoted themselves to the nation, convey respect and appreciation for their service, and help them stay healthy during the hot summer season. Adding even greater meaning to the occasion, commemorative patriotic service frames were presented to 59 national veterans. Each frame featured a longevity portrait taken during a photo session held last month, serving as a heartfelt tribute to their sacrifice and dedication.
During the event, the Masan Branch was also presented with a plaque of appreciation in recognition of its continued volunteer service and longstanding support for local veterans' organizations. Ha Sam-sik, President of the Masan Branch of the Korean Agent Orange Veterans Association, said, "I hope we become a society that never forgets and always remembers those who sacrificed for our country." Branch Director Cho Seong-bok added, "The freedom and peace we enjoy today are possible because of the noble sacrifices of those who dedicated themselves to our nation. We will continue striving to foster a culture of gratitude and respect for national veterans and their families throughout our local community."
The peace, freedom, and everyday life we enjoy today were not simply given to us. They are possible because of the dedication and sacrifices of countless individuals. I hope we will always remember their service and live each day with hearts filled with gratitude. Even the smallest acts of care and kindness can make a difference. When we come together with compassion and appreciation, we can build a better society for future generations.
