Who are the two witnesses of Revelation 11?

= Two shepherds who serve and testify to the Lord / One is like a reed and betray later =

[Shincheonji Church of Jesus, The Temple of Tabernacle]

A witness(證人) means '證: testify, 人: a person', a person who testifies to what he has seen and heard at the scene. Witnesses usually appear in court because he was the one who saw and heard the scene of the incident.

First at the entire contents of Revelation 11, two witnesses who served the Lord were killed by the beast, the destroyer that ascendeth out of the bottomless pit. And, three days later they received the spirit of life from God and stood upon their feet. Jesus said if any man will hurt two witnesses, he must be killed. After being alive, the seventh and last trumpet is blown. At the sound of the seventh trumpet, the kingdoms of this world become the kingdoms of our Lord(Rev. 11:15). And, the mystery of God, resurrection and eternal life, should be finished as the hath declared to his servants the prophets (Rev. 10:7).

We must know the time, place and person of the Book of Revelation. The scene where the events of Revelation 11 take place is not the entire global village, but the temple of the tabernacle where Jesus dwells at the time of the Second Coming of Jesus. Then, who are these two witnesses who testify to what they saw and heard in the temple of tabernacle? Revelation 11:4 says 'These are the two olive trees, and the two candlesticks standing before the Bod of the earth.'. Here the Lord means Jesus. The two witnesses in the text means those who saw and heard all the events that took place in the temple of the tabernacle when the prophecy of Revelation was fulfilled meaning two shepherds, two people who received the Spirit of Jesus.

Let's take a look at the scene. In Revelation 2-3, at the tent of seven golden candlesticks which prepares the path of the Lord in Revelation 1, seven angels and saints broke the covenant with God and betrayed. To have them back, a letter of repentance was sent. But, they became one with the beast which has the seven heads and ten horns belonging to the whore and the church that started with the Holy Spirit became the devil's den. Two witnesses are messengers sent by Jesus who have a mission to testify what they saw and heard at the scene.

The mission of two witnesses can be viewed in two ways. In Revelation 11:3, it says 'I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days clothed in sackcloth.' The sackcloth means the word of repentance for a dead deed. In the old days, physical Israelites wore sackcloth and lamented when they repented of their sins or when people died. This tells you, at the time of the fulfillment of the Book of Revelation, not only urging repentance to the saints who are being trodden down by the Gentles but also prophesying the future for three and a half years, 1260 days.

Secondly, in Revelation 11:3-4, two witnesses are two olive trees and two candlesticks.

It means that the person with a mission who is with the spirit of the lamp in front of the throne of God and who enlightens the dark mind with the light of the word. In Isaiah 5:7, the men of Judah are the plant. And, in John 15, Jesus refers to the true vine. So, the tree refers to man.

Regarding the two olive trees, in Zechariah 4:2, the prophet Zechariah saw the vision of a candlestick of gold and two olive trees by it. Therefore, in Zechariah 4:11-14, it clearly said two olive trees standing by the Lord are the two anointed & consecrated ones to serve the Lord. In Revelation 11:10, it is written that two witnesses are two prophets. Just as olive oil comes from the fruit of an olive tree, what can we gain from witnesses like olive trees? That is the word of testimony.

Two witnesses are the two shepherds who testify with Jesus who was betrayer and destroyer at the temple of God called the temple of the tabernacle at the time of Second Coming of Jesus. At the Second Coming of Jesus, a person who received the opened book in Revelation 10 and a person who is like a reed worked together. And they are called two witnesses. As in the old days of Adam, Moses, and the First Coming of Jesus, the one betrayed God like Eve with a reed-like faith.

In Matthew 13, Jesus tells the secrets of the kingdom of heaven in parables and it will be revealed when the time comes. New heaven and earth can clearly convey the hidden secrets through the promised shepherd who clearly testifies everything.

It explained that there were two witnesses standing in front of God, wearing sackcloth and prophesying. These two witnesses mean the Bible, the word of God which is the Old and New Testament. In verse 6, we can understand that it is the Bible, the word of the Lord. It tells you what the Bible, the word of the Lord, has done in the past. It also said that 'These have power to shut heaven, that it rains not in the days of their prophecy : and have power over waters to turn them to blood, and to smile the earth with all plagues, as often as they will'. Isn't it listing what it's done with the word of the Lord?

According to Deuteronomy 11:16-17, there is power in the word of the Lord. When the word of the Lord is broken, the earth has always been judged by the Lord. The Lord can endure. But, God has his limit. So, we can realize the history of the Lord's judgment waking up and turning back.

In the two olive trees and the two candlesticks, the two olive trees are interpreted as the Law and the Prophets (represented by Moses and Elijah), the Old and New Testament. The two live trees supplying the material for the candlestick are appropriate symbols of the Old and New Testaments and the candlestick modeled the Jewish Christian Church. It is a metaphorical expression of the character of the two witnesses who will arise in the time of tribulation.
