[Shincheonji Internet Zion Mission Center] The Figurative Beast

Main Reference : Rv 13:2

Q) What is the physical fulfillment of the figurative beast?

A) Figurative beast = a person who does not understand God’s word

Figurative man = a person who understands God’s word

[1] Man and beast (in the books of instruction)

⏵ Physical characteristic : a beast acts irrationally according to its instinct

Prov 30:2-4

beast (figurative) : a person who doesn’t have knowledge of the Holy One

Ps 49:20

beasts : people who are in honor but do not understand

Jude 1:10

what they do not understand → slander

understanding through instinct → destruction

▮ Spiritual meanings of man and beast in the books of instruction

◾ man : a person who understands God’s word

◾ beast : a person who does not understand God’s word

[2] Classification of the Figurative Beast (in the books of prophecy)

In the Bible (the books of prophecy, in particular), a person is categorized as a type of beast depending on what the person does.

▮ The process of the fulfillment of prophecy (in order)

◾ 2 Thes 2:1-3

it was promised that things will take place in the order of ① betrayal → ② destruction → ③ salvation.

- betrayal

to forsake God after having walked the path of the word and lived according to God’s will

- destruction

to destroy God’s people who betrayed

- salvation

to help and save people who are being destroyed

◾ beast of betrayal : one who betrays (betrayer)

◾ beast of destruction : one who destroys (destroyer)

◾ beast of salvation : one who saves (savior)

1) Beasts that symbolize betrayers (God’s side → Satan’s side) : dogs, pigs

people who once belonged to God and did God’s work before betraying God and belonging to Satan.

Mt 7:6

what is sacred, pearl → do not give to dogs and pigs

2 Pet 2:20-22

people who turned back after having known the way of righteousness = dogs, pigs

⏵ as the behaviors of a dog to return to its own vomit and of a sow to return to her wallowing in the mud are similar to a betrayer’s, betrayers are likened to dogs and pigs.

2) Beasts that symbolize destroyers (Satan’s side) : Wild beasts, snakes, wolves

people who stand on Satan’s side and destroy betrayers

Is 56:9-11

At the time of Genesis

Gn 3:1

At the First Coming

Mt 7:15

false prophets : wolves → Jews (sheep)

Mt 23:33

teachers of the law, Pharisees : snakes → Jews

⏵ Physical fulfillment of the snakes and serpents at the First Coming : teachers of the law, Pharisees

they killed and destroyed the souls of the Jews with untruths (men’s thoughts, doctrines, and teachings.)

At the Second Coming

Rv 13:1-2

false prophet : leopard, bear, lion

⏵ Physical fulfillment of the beast in Rv 13 in the last days : false pastors preaching untruths (false doctrines, men’s teachings) will appear as destroyers.

3) Beasts that symbolize the savior (God’s side) : Lambs, sheep, oxen, horses

Jn 1:29

lamb : Jesus

Mt 25:31-34

sheep-like believers → inherit the kingdom of heaven

1 Cor 9:9-10

ox : worker, pastor

⏵ as workers and pastors plow the fields of a person’s heart and help to sow the seed of the word, they are likened to oxen.

Rv 19:11

flesh being worked by the spirit → hose

▣ Summary of Key Points

◾ Dog, pig : pastor who betrayed and lack understanding (betrayer)

◾ snakes, ferocious beasts : destroyers

◾ Lamb : Jesus (savior)

◾ Sheep, oxen, horses : saints belonging to God
