Matthew 13 Who is the Merchant Who Finds Fine Pearls?

= Goodly pearls is the word of truth, a pearl merchant is a person who seeks the word of truth =

[Shincheonji Church of Jesus, The Temple of the Tabernacle]

In Matthew 13, the pearl in the parable is the word of truth of God. Because the word of God brings kingdom of heaven and eternal live, above all else, As in Psalm 12, Jesus spoke of precious gold, silver, treasure and pearls (Psalm 12:6).

In Proverbs 3 and 20, God said that wisdom cannot be compared with anything else, even more precious than pearls. Therefore, wisdom is the word of God. In Deuteronomy 28 and 33, He refers to the rain and dew of heaven as treasures. This is because water is as precious as a treasure in agriculture logically.

However, in Deuteronomy 32, the rain and dew coming from heaven are not physical water, but words and doctrine, that is, the words of God.

Therefore, treasures and pearls in the Bible are words of truth of God which are spiritually precious and everlasting. Who is the merchant looking for good pearls? Like a merchant looking for good pearls, the pear in the parable means the word. So, a merchant refers to a person who is thirsty for the word and seeks the word of truth. Therefore, spiritual merchants are evangelists and shepherds who convey the word.

What does selling all that he had and buying the pearl mean? That means we meet the word of truth of God which is superior to anything else, throw away the false knowledge of the Bible which we had so far and the knowledge of our own, and recognize and choose the word of truth. Possessing the truth means possessing the kingdom of heaven. the Apostle Paul who met Jesus received the word of the revelation which is superior and threw away the law like excrement which he regarded as the life.

At the First Coming of Jesus, the goodly pearls are the word of revelation fulfilled according to the prophecies of the Old Testament. After hearing these words, coming toward Jesus, throwing our own knowledge out and following the word of testimony of Jesus, is to sell our possession and to buy pearls. This was to possess heaven at the First Coming.

At the Second Coming, the good pearls are the word of revelation fulfilled according to the prophecy of Revelation. To come to the messenger of Jesus, the promised pastor of a new heaven and earth sent by Jesus, to hear and learn the words of the fulfillment of Revelation in the New Testament is to throw away one's knowledge and buy the pearl of the great price. This is to possess heaven at the Second Coming.

On the contrary, in Revelation 17, it says that the great whore with seven heads and ten horns is decked with gold, precious stones and pearls. Who is the great whore? This whore is a spiritual woman referring to a false shepherd who received Satan's seed, untruth and had fellowship with Satan. And its name was called Babylon. What is the reason that the name of the great whore was called Babylon? The great whore was compared to Babylon in the Old Testament. This is because Babylon is the country and habitation of devils  as it destroyed the chosen people in the old days. It says that this multitude of the whore entered the tent of heaven in Revelation 13 and destroyed not only the chosen people but also the nations.

What are pearls that the whore has? As the spiritual pearl was the word, the pearl in Revelation 17 means doctrine of Satan, that is, untruths of Satan which are not God's. Being decked means to cherish the untruth as if it were a pearl and to brag about it. Words that are not in the Bible are fake pearls.

In Matthew 7, he said not to give holy things and pearls to dogs and swine. Why did he say that? In 2 Pet 2 and Isaiah 56, the dogs and swine in parables mean ignorant shepherds. As the dog is turned to his own vomit again, and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire, they are those who have received a mission and the word of truth of God, but they betray like Balaam and act according to their arrogance and greed. To command not to throw pearls to dogs and swine means not to give the word of life to the ignorant shepherds. As dogs and swine trample on pearls without knowing the value of it, the ignorant shepherds also trample on it without knowing the true value of the word of God.

In summary, good pearls are the word of truth. A merchant who seeks good pearls is a person or an evangelist who looks for and seeks the truth. Buying the pearls of great price means throwing away one's false knowledge of the Bible and untruth and buying the word of truth, going to heaven.

Today, when the promised Revelation is fulfilled, this pearl can only be obtained through the promised pastor of the new heaven and earth, the only pastor in the global village who conveys the reality as prophesied after seeing and hearing. In addition, Only those who possess the word of truth of God will enter the kingdom of heaven and shine lie pearls forever.

= Goodly pearls are church members and church / a merchant is God =

Presbyterian Church Pastor A

A merchant who seeks good pearls is God and good pearls are us, church members. Buying it after selling our possession means that he gave his only begotten Son and bought it. It was God's great salvation to save our lives.

Presbyterian Church Pastor B

Pearls means sacrifices and its role is to cover shame. When we put a porcelain chip in the shell and make a cut, in order to cover, there comes a fluid. This is the way the pearl is produced. The most pricey pearl, Jesus was wounded on the cross. With that blood, he covers us. This is what is said 'found and bought it'. In acts 20:28, what did God's blood buy? What He bought was the church. So the pearl of the great price is the church. With what? With the blood of God, with the blood of Jesus, He bought it.

  1. There's minimal solid teaching on the Bible these days, especially on Revelation. I feel fortunate reading and watching this post/video. I look forward to tuning into Shincheonji Church’s explanation of the Book of Revelation on 18th October🙂❤️
